To start, It’s valet only property and the valet was difficult to access and pull in for on E Bay, So I had to circle the block multiple times and finally park illegally on market to get assistance. Check in was also slow as they only had one person working the front desk in a line of six guests waiting to get keys at 6 o’clock on a Thursday night. The property also is a bit tired - only one elevator was working for the entire property when I arrived and through the next day. My room smelled quite musty and had a terrible view of the 2nd level of the parking garage (obstructed and hardly any sunlight peaking through). It is not uncommon that online bookings with Expedia typically get the worst rooms at high end properties - but it does get annoying. I was further underwhelmed by the gym, and any decent tables on the rooftop came only with expensive bottle service (prices equivalent to Las Vegas? SMH...) While they offered pastries, fruit and coffee near the elevator in the am until 10am, our coffee had been depleted by 9am and not refreshed automatically (until requested by phone). At check out I also found the front desk attendant flat and rather unfriendly. There are a lot of lovely options in downtown Charleston. I would skip this one if I were you...
