Concierge level not worth it

Have stayed before and concierge was great: long open champagne hours, great afternoon tea, evening nibbles. This time: two hours of wine, plate of sandwiches in the afternoon left out along with leftover morning pastries. Fail.

Perfect location

Pros: Location to shopping, restaurants, and historical sites.
Beautiful hotel in beautiful Charleston that's just steps away from great restaurants and historic market. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Fresh flowers on the desk and a complimentary fruit/cheese plate from management made for a lovely stay.

Perfect location

The hotel is perfectly located. The lobby is very nice, and the terrace bar is a great way to start the evening. Its an old building, so expect rickety elevators and plumbing. But we loved it and would stay there again on future visits to Charleston. It is near the area where the cruise boats tie up, so expect lots of tourists when a ship is in port. Obviously, its a tourist destination, and we were tourists. But they can overwhelm the area for brief periods.

Stayed a number of times. Bit pricey but the services were outstanding. pool bar area and all facilities were well groomed. Great location for shopping and many restaurants. The market is adjacent to the hotel.

Pure luxury all the way!

Posted Apr 27, 2016
Pros: Location, staff, large comfortable room and bathroom
Cons: I would have liked some healthier options on the continental breakfast.
Location: The hotel is in the historic district and next door to the city market. It is within walking distance of the water, restaurants & historic buildings
We stayed at the MP to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We were expecting a luxury hotel, but this place was over the top! Location, amenities, staff- all were top notch in every way. We mentioned that this was our anniversary upon check in and within minutes of entering our beautiful room Kim the concierge was at the door with chilled champagne. Loved the rooftop pool and bar, loved the comfortable large room and also the view of the city market from our little balcony. Our celebration was really special thanks to this hotel!

Old School Charleston

This is a great hotel right in the middle of everything. The only negative is that the front can be busy at check in and check out. We waited over a half hour for our car at check out, with no one telling us it would be that long.
