Walk to anywhere!Posted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: Historic aspects, lobby, décor.
Cons: Bathrooms. Too small, not enough vanity area.
Location: Can walk to anywhere from this location. Great restaurants, bars and shopping very nearby. And a lovely park just across the street.
Lovely, renovated historic building retains so much charm while providing modern amenities. Everyone who works at this hotel is very friendly, courteous and helpful. Greatly enjoyed our stay. And the hotel's restaurant serves an amazing breakfast!

Terribly DissapointedPosted Sep 27, 2015
Cons: Time for renovations.
Location: Perfectly located on King St where all of the shopping is.
After the gorgeous lobby and friendly staff the entire place fell apart. Poorly maintained hallways and rooms, suffocatingly small bathroom, pillows needed to be thrown out years ago. No water pressure in shower, musty smelling rooms and halls, toilets were loud and barely flushed, AC unit blew cold air right at the beds. We were very dissapointed.

Lobby was great. People were great. Hotel was old but not in a good way. I was in need of repair and paint. Bathroom was small cramped.

Disappointing stayPosted Sep 14, 2015
This is truly a historic hotel. We've never experienced such a tiny bathroom other than in an RV. The pedestal sink left no room for anything. There was a small glass shelf above the sink, and as long as the female half doesn't wear makeup or curl her hair, it may be ok. Could not regulate the bath water...either lukewarm or scalding hot. The room itself was nicely appointed, attractive, and clean. We were hoping for a king bed but were only able to get 2 beds and they are smaller than queen size. The linens were very nice but the mattress was soft and sunk in the middle. The room temperature could not be regulated. It was 69 degrees which was too cool for us. We turned off the A/C numerous times. We were on the 3rd floor and it sounded like we were outside. While we liked the location on King St, it was noisy. Numerous sirens woke us up during the night. For $300 a night, our expectations were not met.

Lovely hotel, great location, small roomsPosted Sep 8, 2015
Overall, the hotel is beautiful. The lobby is amazing with gorgeous chandeliers and quite expansive. Staff was courteous and timely. The room was decorated well but definitely on the smaller side, and I felt the bathroom was definitely a little cramped. Also, the walls were quite thin so we heard everything from the neighbors chatting to doors closing. Lovely hotel, in the center of Charleston which was extremely convenient, price point was a little on the high side for the room in my opinion.

Walking distance to everything downtown,Posted Sep 7, 2015
Really nice hotel if you like historical older style hotels. The bathroom is a little small and simple but to be expected in a retro fitted hotel trying to keep with its original design. The bed was really comfortable and room comfort was great. The staff is outstanding and always were helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much
