This hotel is in a great location and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, however I don’t think I would stay here again.
- this hotel is very noisy because of how the rooms are arranged. All sounds echo a decent amount so anytime someone is talking in the hallways or someone closes a door, it’s pretty loud. If you’re a light sleeper, I would not stay here. Also the walls are super thin.
- I would describe this hotel as a mid-budget hotel with a lot of makeup. They over-decorate everything and have so many “add ons” (like art tours, breakfast bag, etc.) that it’s almost as if they want to distract from the actual quality of the space. It’s an old building and if you look closely, you can tell. There were a lot of small things in my room that were not up to the standard I’d expect from a hotel this expensive. For example, I ended up staying in two different rooms and there was hair on the floor, chipped paint and scuffs on the wall, peeling caulk, etc that made me feel like the room was a little dirty. Maybe it’s personal preference, but I’ve stayed in large chain hotels that seemed cleaner. Even the rooftop bar felt this way. Cheap furniture used, slow service, dirty tables, etc.
- this is minor but as a young woman traveling alone, it made me feel weird. There are no extra locks on the door, just the standard deadbolt. I would have liked another lock to feel a bit more secure. There was also no peep hole which I didn’t love.
