When I first arrived at the property no carts were available to bring my stuff to my room. The staff told me that my credit card did not go through when it did. He also mentioned that the pet fee was $75 when it was $50. One of the elevator was out. The microwave and kitchen light were not working and when I called the front desk they told me they did not have maintenance on site, and no rooms available to change me. The kitchen floor tile was coming apart.

Key cards for entrance are broke around the property therefore anyone can enter the property. My daughter and I was coming back from the store and it’s looks as homeless people may be sleeping in the stairwell.

This property was supposed to be non smoking however there was strong odor of marijuana in the hallway, the main elevator was broke and out of service we were followed and felt very unsafe for us and our young child. We turn around and expressed our concerns to the front desk attendant to no avail, We came to realize our concerns were not going to be addressed by the Hyatt House front desk attendant takes proper measures to ensure the safety of their guest that is when we decided this was not a safe place to stay with children.

We requested early check-in. We arrived at 2PM and we were informed that no rooms were ready. Yet on the day that we were to check-out housekeeping came to our room at 9AM (please note check out is after 11). The room was not clean and it exhibited clear signs of water infiltration throughout the room. When heading out one evening there was what seemed like the remnants of feces in the one working elevator. We attempted to call the front desk on multiple issues and I one ever answered the telephone.

Hotel carpet in halls was torn and dirty, as well as popping up all over. The main elevator was out of order, so I had to carry my bag around the entire building and use the back elevator during my stay. The door to the back parking lot was supposed to be locked with entry by room key, however the door was always open, as the key swipe was ripped out of the wall on both sides. This made anyone be able to access the property through a backdoor that was not secure. The TVs were on in both rooms when I arrived, which was odd. There was no way to access a guide on the living room TV, or any access to Smart TV apps to use Netflix etc in either room. When I turned on the light later that night the kitchen was covered in cockroaches who all scurried at the light going on. This was near where my luggage was and shoes which I immediately shook out and put up high. This was probably why the TVs were left on to have constant light in the rooms. With the presence of roaches I did not use anything in the kitchen. It seriously grossed me out and made me not want to spend the night, even in a suite.

The area was well kept, even pretty, but I don't think it is in a very good area of town, and if you want to leave the hotel to go anywhere you *have* to take a car- there are no sidewalks anywhere and the hotel is on and intersects with busy highways and streets.

Public corridors in a very poor state of repair. Filthy ripped carpets and walls dirty and damaged. Room much better but a bit worn and cleanliness of bathroom questionable. Staff great. Just needs tlc, and would be great.

The staff were amazing. The room was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. They need to do some renovations in the hallways and fix the broken elevator. Walking through the halls did not make the place look very desirable to stay at with the stained and non vacuumed carpet, scratched and stained walls.

The concept of the studio apartment was great, but the service was lousy, lousy and lousy. The front desk does not answer the phone. The room that I reserved in December was not available when I got there in March and I was placed in a hazardous room. The shade fell on my sister and almost took out her right eye. The manager was trying to repair the shade on our time he was in the room with an assistant for over an hour and we were late for our engagement. No fresh towels and no toiletries. One elevator for the entire hotel, we had to walk a mile for each time we left the room. All security doors from the street were broken, very unsafe. Do you want me to go on…

The property is well located; just a short drive to major roads and a quick ride to central down town Charlotte. We like Charlotte! This Hyatt House location is showing wear on carpets and floors thru hallways. One elevator was broken. Luckily the one that worked was closer to our room. Rooms were pretty nice. Definitely spacious. Beds too soft, but overall everything was clean and inky showing minor wear inside room. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast was plentiful & once again friendly, unobtrusive staff, clean sitting area.

Horrible stay at this Location 4920 South Tryon. Stayed in Room 302 and was bit by bed bugs. Told management and even showed video. I was told the problem would be resolved that never happened. I was told I would be credited in points for my stay and it would take 24 hours. Its been 10 days still nothing. The manager apologized and the proceeded to tell me that she was sorry and that this location would soon be a home 2 home suites or something soon and that it would be better then. I doubt that I would come back this situation hasnt been fixed.

Staff was very friendly but the conditions of this hotel were a bit dirty and grimy. Lots of carpet stains, leftover hair in the bathroom, etc. Worked for a quick stopover but wouldn't be my hotel of choice, especially for the price!

The staff was nice, but the property is in disrepair. Everything is teetering on “broken.” Even the door to the fire escape was broken. The room was pretty clean, but again most of the furnishings were beat up and stained, the floors were water damaged, and the doors all had a hard time opening and closing.

Anything you may have needed you needed to ask for. Ceiling tiles were stained. Kitchen floorboard falling apart separated and warped. Laundry facility did not have any detergent. Waited 3 hours for someone to come clean our room only to drop off sheets blankets and towels. Broken elevator. Security was an issue there were no door locks on back doors. Carpets in hallways were wrinkled and ripped. Lighting in room was terrible. Light switches were inconvenient and confusing. Furniture was very uncomfortable. There was so much more to complain about. I have stayed in better hotels and paid much less I am disappointed that this was a Hyatt Hotel for the level of quality. I will not stay at a Hyatt Hotel again.
