Nice South CLT Hotel

Great hotel! Their staff was nice and very informative of the hotel amenities. The room was clean and very welcoming. I'd definitely stay here again!

My Stay

Pros: The gym mostly.
Cons: Needs a laundry facility.
I choose this hotel because it came with a bundle package from expedia, which included flight and rental car. The hotel itself was nice from the outside and better on the inside. The room was very spacious with a high level of comfort, and the hotel itself was very quiet. I'm honestly thinking; I was probably the loudest on the floor when my gf drove in from Raleigh to stay with me a couple nights but that's probably TMI lol. Anyway, the gym was facility was very nice and the breakfast was pretty good as well too. The hotel is kind of back in the cut to where its not easily seen so I'm guessing this is why it was such a quiet area. Security roamed the parking lot(s) at night so I would say they were vigilant. The staff was polite, and very easy going as well. Whatever you needed, they could take care of the matter. One last thing; there is no laundry facility in their to wash your clothes. Luckily for me, I knew the area already so it was easy for me to handle that part of my trip. Other than that, I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and recommend it to friends and family if they wanted to come and stay for a visit to the Charlotte area.

Need of serious updating

I was on the 2nd floor and the entire floor smelled of urine. My room also had a weird mixture of urine and waffle syrup. The staff did come up and spray the carpet but it really needs replacing. My other coworkers were on the 3rd floor and it spelled of smoke. They also had partiers next door that kept them up past 3am yelling and screaming. They were so drunk they kept trying to enter wrong rooms. Additionally, I had a king suite and the closet door was missing. The mattress was broken and the foot of the bed was higher than the head of bed. Free breakfast was ok. We ordered lunch and the lady at counter seemed put out that I ordered the tacos and didn't just buy a salad or sandwich already at the counter. The bar tender told me they had additional food after I asked if they had an actual menu after seeing pics of pizza and other items. I was very disappointed that this was a Hyatt Place. It's definitely not up to par with most other Hyatt locations. Our entire team decided we will not stay here again even though it's more convenient to our office.

We were robbed

It is NOT a safe hotel in addition to the rooms not being clean. Housekeeping entered our room when we had a Do not disturb sign...while we were away. We came home that same evening and found out we were robbed.

Dirty

The room was VERY dirty. Bed sheets on both of our beds were dirty and needed to be changed. One was very stained and the other had hair all over it. The shower curtain was moldy. The carpet had large stains on it. The couch was dirty and full of dust. We could see crumbs and dirt in corners of the room. There was a piece of lettuce on the desk chair. It was obvious that the staff just doesn't hold a high standard when it comes to keeping these rooms clean. Our friends had two other rooms and theirs were dirty, as well. We would not recommend this hotel and will definitely not be staying there again. It was not expected from a name like Hyatt.

We did not get to the hotel until about 11:30p.m. So the double beds for the rooms we requested were all taken. So we had to take rooms with a King bed and pull out sofa which was not ideal, but we made it work. (they did have a huge group of scouts there and that's where all the doubles went). They staff was apologetic, and tried to help out best they could even checking with one of the other hotels to see if they had anything. They were friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean. Would stay there again.
