Pros: I love that it was very dog friendly! At checkin, they offered treats for our pups, and there was a large pet relief area outside.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Staff was very friendly. Love Aloft hotels.

Modern - could be perfect with attention!

Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Microwaves in the rooms without having to request. Not the end of the world but a big deal.
Location: It's in a very clean and corporate area. A field across the street that people take their dogs to play - etc. Food close. Very nice.
The ONLY complaint I have is sort of on my own shoulders - realized at like 11 pm there is no microwave in the room unless you request one. The staff is over the moon friendly. The hotel is modern, clean, and SO updated. You have to put your room key in a slot in your room to turn on the power, there's a safe, and beautiful big windows. HOWEVER - if you are traveling with someone that you still require privacy around... be sure to mention that to them. Our room had a glass window for one shower wall that you could see the person take the shower on the other side in the room. It didn't bother me because it was my boyfriend - but if you're traveling with your dad it may be a little weird. Beautiful tho! and can't wait to stay again!

Nice room and very clean

Pros: Good location and nice room
Cons: Check in procedure
Location: James K. Polk Homestead was very interesting
Everything was great except the check in. The music was so loud in the lobby I couldn't hear the desk clerk. Everything else was fine.

Girls Gone Wild!

Location: We went to Scarowinds, which was little bit of a let down, but we had brunch at The Terrace Cafe, excellent chicken and waffles.
Actually we didn't go wild but our service was excellent. The staff that checked us in was friendly, the bartender was very accommodating. The room was comfortable and quiet, the pool was relaxing and the outdoor courtyard was amazing.

Safe haven during hurricane Matthew

Pros: User friendly, good amenities, helpful staff.
Cons: A real restaurant would be nice
Location: The hotel was located in a corporate park. I was not there on business. The weather was horrible so I did not do any tourist activities.
Arrived with 2 cats, check in and getting installed was easy, everyone was very helpful. The room was comfortable and had lots of appreciated amenities. I will stay at another Aloft hotel again,

Overpriced, no amenities, cheap construction, loud

Pros: The staff was friendly and responsive.
Cons: You would be better off staying at a Best Western or Sleep Inn. This place is very overpriced for what you get.
You are paying for a facade. The construction is cheap. The ceilings are latex painted press boards. The beds are literally lumpy and hard. The linens are rough and low quality. There is no noise dampening between the walls so you hear what's going on in the next room and in the hallway. The ac unit did not cool the room appropriately. The room is not made for a family of four. There is no space. There is no where to sit as the sitting bench is right underneath the tv and if you sit on the bench you hit your head on the tv. The food in the lobby is overpriced and low quality. Also there is no cell phone recep. We had to step outside the hotel to make and return calls. There are no amenities for such a hefty price. Walking into the lobby was like walking into a club atmosphere with loud bumping music and people drinking all around with flashing neon lights. It was very disjointing after a long day of travel. If you have any sort of hearing problem it is very difficult to understand what the lobby staff is trying to say to you when you are checking in due to all this excessive background noise. Upon checking in we were charged a refundable incidental fee of 50 dollars which prior to we were not informed of in any way. Nor was this fee necessary as there were signs in the room saying if you smoked in the room you would be charged 500 dollars for cleaning. If they are able to do this they do not need to get a 50 dollar fee when you check in.
