Definitely no frills. Smelled like stale cigarettes. Lots of banging noises late at night. Glad I didn't have to stay longer.

It was horrible my friend came over for 10 mins with her dog then left and they charged me 100 dollars just to clean the room when the room was only 75 dollars and a smoking room

Pros: not much
Cons: The door fit, the smell, the lights and the laundry
Location: Nice city but the location is not the best. I wasn't there on vacation so I wasn't looking for things to do.
When entering the room it reeked of smoke. The door doesn't close tight - you can see light between the door jamb and the seal. Half of the light bulbs were burned out and you can hear the electricity arc when you push the light switch between the beds; the switch will either quit working or it may start a fire. The worst part was there was a large blood stain on the sheet on one of the beds that didn't wash out in their laundry-- luckily I had 2 beds and I was the only one staying, but this sheet should have been destroyed.

Worst experience ever

Pros: Not a thing
Cons: It should be demolished and rebuilt
We were unable to stay at all as it would have been hazardous to our health! The microwave was blackened/burned, as were the arms of the chair. The shower was covered in mold. The furniture was falling apart. I could go on and on, but why bother? It was the worst motel-rental experience I ever had. We left without checking in and stayed somewhere else.

Disappointed from Michigan

This hotel is bad!!!! First night was woke up to someone banging on our door saying she was hungry, then my poor husband fell in tub because it was without safety strips and hit his head, then the second night we noticed you could see the outside with the door shut around the frame. Plus the carpet was badly stained and something sticky next to the bed like jelly?? or something?? My husband went to move and the walls was moving in his hands. I have never stayed in a Super 8 in this condition before so was very surprised. I did report the women banging on our door at 645 am and my husbands fall.. We was a prepaid unable to get my money back or another room.. Like they say you get what you pay for. We will never stay here again and I hope you take my words to heart find some other place this is bad!!!

Never again

My fiance and I decided last minute to attend a reunion in Gastonia. Most of the hotels in the area were sold out, so we decided on this Super 8. The pictures online made it appear to be a decent place to stay. Not so. We checked in and paid, then went to our room and saw it was in obvious disrepair. There were very large holes that they tried to unsuccessfully patch up in the wall. The carpet was fraying and stained. Bedspread had several burn holes in it, yet we were in a non-smoking room. On the sheets we found several long and short black hairs, as well as black and yellow stains. The shower water ran with a black-ish/grey color for about 5 minutes. Common problem I guess because the tub had a grey stain in the bottom. When it finally cleared enough that I felt somewhat safe to shower, the water pressure was non-existent and the water was either blistering hot, or cold. The air conditioning/heater unit was mounted in the wall like a window a/c unit. The buttons were hollowed out and the only way to control it was via remote control. All the fumes from outside, including the diesel truck that ran for 15 minutes outside at 5am, came in the through the unit. I can't talk about the breakfast they offered, as the unsanitary conditions of the room had my fiance and I running to the nearest Waffle House. Bottom line, this hotel was dirty and not maintained. Spend the extra $50 and stay elsewhere.

Stop on the way

I start this by saying that part of this bad review is my fault. I didn't check for a non-smoking room. I live in Ohio and I don't think so much about rooms not being non-smoking. The bed sheets were clean, but the flooring in the sink area was sticky on my shoes. I walked over the rug in the bed area without my shoes and had dirty socks. The hair dryer didn't work. The outlet with the dryer didn't work. The light switch as I entered the room didn't work. It smelled terrible (again, I know this is my fault. The website said I couldn't change after ordering, so I figured I could put up with a little smoke smell for one night) but it was extremely smelly. I did look at reviews before I booked. A couple said needed updates and another said it was clean. All I wanted was clean. It was a stopover on our way to Georgia.
