Nice room for the price
Not bad, size of unit was good for price. Nice windows open to a courtyard view with trees and birds. Surrounding area was a bit sketchy. Train station 50 meters away

Best location to stay in Berlin
The location of the hotel is perfect. Very close to the charlottenburg s bahn station from where you can get to Hbf and Alexanderplatz easily. Likewise, you can a direct bus to Txl airport and berlin ZOB. Location was the prime reason for choosing this place. The staff do speak english ( you have to be careful). Having lived in Germany for few years, I am okay with the fact that the staff will be more straight forward than friendly. As long as they are not rude, its acceptable. I can say the same about the hotel’s staff. Breakfast is alright. They have variety of cheese, simple bread, brotchen and sausage. I think two to three days of that breakfast is fine. Just make sure you are done eating by 10 am or else they will ask you to leave. The room itself is okay. For the price, i think its fine. The beds to slide so just be cautious of that. There is no coffee machine or hot water boiler. There is an elevator but it doesn’t go to all floors so there might be a little bit of luggage carrying. The bathroom is a little old with few amenities. However, the housekeeping is impeccable. Not only did they clean the room, they also folded our clothes. It was really nice. I do recommend this hotel especially for young people. It is reasonable and is greatly located.

Good quality for reasonable cost -good location right beside train station. .all Berlin &airport accessible. Only issue is noise at night from Atrium behind hotel- lot of noise in middle of the night on few nights- someone moving large metal garbage bins . Good breakfast included

Great location
Nice hotel, quite basic but bed was super compfy. Great location, right opposite train station and bus station from and to airport round the corner. Great service at hotel, only thing I would say is that one day the cleaners left our room unlocked which was a bit worrying. Other than that very good and quiet.

Brilliant location Clean enough, few marks on the bedding but wasn’t the end of the world Great price Disappointed by the breakfast - get there before 9 if you want full options! We got there at 9:15 and there was no more white rolls and no toaster waffles which is what we had the day before. Walls very thin so could hear kids running around the hotel

The hotel was decent, clean, and in a great location. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but just what you need. Breakfast was good, and I have no complaints about the room. The nearby metro station is very convenient for getting around town.

Great stay easily accessible from airport!
Terrific location, so simple to travel from the airport with only one bus and a few stops away. 24-check-in and great tasting free breakfast, super comfortable and spacious room. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Alright hotel in a good location
Many things listed as included were not; air conditioning and mini bar. Our room overlooked the bin filled court yard so we were woken up at 6:30-7:15 every morning by the bins being moved; very annoying! Although the location was very handy between two modes of public transport.

Accessible, safe, affordable, and convenient.
Lobby staff was helpful yet unobtrusive. Door was locked late at night but they buzzed you in with no hassle. Lobby cooler stocked beer, wine, and soft drinks at very reasonable rates. My single room was tiny but manageable. TV small but worked well. I had no internet problems and could stream Netflix without interruptions. Free breakfast was the same daily but always fresh and plenty to eat

1-Wrong reservation details+rates higher than advertised. 2-No elevator at ground level; 3-No instructions to use telephone; useless. 4-Email for telephone only; if you have two telephones, or an iPad, you are done. 5-Breakfasr poor : Ham+boiled eggs+cheese+ cornflex). 6-Staff know neither English nor German; only Russian It is less than a star. Who gave this hotel a three star level. !!!!

Worst Hotel in Berlin!!!
This property is run by a deceptive group of people who do not honor cancellations and misrepresent facts. The quality of the hotel property is stuck in the 70s with no visible renovations. No sound isolation AT ALL, so you do not have any secrets with other guests, hearing them taking showers, talking,- like in a call center. Would not recommend to my enemies! :-)

Just returned from 6 night stay in Hotel Abendstern.Reception staff were polite and helpful.Bus,train and underground stations all very near so you can be in central Berlin in a few minutes,for a 2.70 Euro single ticket,or 7 Euros for all day travel.I walked everywhere as it is not really far from the hotel to the centre by foot.Single room was simple,clean and tidy and quite adequate for a single traveller.Breakfast provided cereals,rolls,cakes,cheese,eggs and sausages and although nothing fancy,again it was quite sufficient to start the day in a good way.The area has some good bars and restaurants,with a shopping area just round the corner.Hotel provides good,clean service at a very reasonable price.If you want more comfort.you will have to go elsewhere(and pay a lot more)but for a short holiday such as I had,it is ideal.If I am ever in Berlin again,I will stay in the Abendstern.

The location of this hotel is good. It's near a U-Bahn station and lots of shopping is within walking distance. The room I got with one bed was very small. I would not recommend it for anyone bigger than average size as they may have problems negotiating the toilet facilities. The room was clean and it had a good bed. The plumbing was good. The internet was poor. It reminded me of dial up only worse. For a short stay it's tolerable. For more than a few days I think better options may be available. Only some of the staff speak English so communication with them can be a challenge if you do not speak German.

Very convenient location. Within 50 meters you can reach light rail or subway stations. Lot of stores and restaurant close-by. Just twenty five minutes away from TXL airport (subway U7 plus to bus X9).

A great choice for a short break in Berlin
Perfect location for sightseeing in Berlin. Comfortable room with plenty of space, clean, light and warm. Would definitely book again if in Berlin. Staff friendly and helpful.

Good budget priced hotel.
This hotel is good for a budget priced hotel. It is in Charlottenburg and is immediately opposite to the railway station and underground so it is quick and easy to get into Berlin centre.

Comfortable hotel in a great location
A great hotel if you are looking for a basic, but comfortable and clean room for a few nights. We spent 4 nights here, where the breakfast was lovely and the staff were very helpful. There are local cafes, restaurants and you are right next to the S-bahn which can get you into central berlin in 10 minutes. Would happily recommend.

Lift may be a problem for some.
Very convenient for the S-Bahn and U-Nahn to the city centre. Rooms have been recently renovated. Buffet breakfast is fine. The only thing which may be a problem for some people is that the lift doesn't access the floors directly, due to the fact that it is an add-on to the rear of the building. The lift accesses the mid-floor landings in the stairwell.

Good Location
The flag waver for this hotel would be the location. S-Bahnhof Charlottenburg is just over the road,whilst around the corner is U-Bahn station Wilmersdorfer Str (U7), so one has access to practically all of Berlin and associated points of interest,as well as the convenience of the close proximity of the Wilmersdorfer shopping mall.The BVG/VBB tourist ticket (see their web) is a great bargain.The hotel in itsself was ok. The rooms were clean, the shower/bathroom too, though the pseudo wooden floor resembled a bare-board effect, which ,to me, made the room appear to be austere- a carpet of some sort would have had more appeal. The breakfast buffet was well organised and the dining area pleasant. The staff were helpful, though some had poor command of English, though that was no problem, as I can handle German. On the location side, I would recommend

Good hotel for young travelers
This is a good place to stay if you are looking for something cheaper than the average hotel and you don't wanna go to a hostel or bed and breakfast. Moreover, it is very close to downtown and the airport (by subway). Nevertheless, the hotel is nothing like the pictures in the website and it is an old building. The room is ok just to sleep and the breakfast is decent. it is a bit loud at night.

Fantastic budget hotel
Really good, perfect location and price. The only thing that could be improved its the quality of the staff's English. I'd recommend brushing up on at least very basic German as they appear to be reluctant to speak English and are a little rude when doing so.

The hotel is fine if you only want to sleep in the room,there was only 1 chair so nowhere for the 2nd person to sit. the breakfast was fine,we went down about 1/2 before it finished and there was food still being put out. i cannot comment on the staff as we knew berlin well we did not need any advice.it is ideally situated for the s or u bahn. the room was well heated,however there didn't seem to be hot water at night so no shower. when we arrived the room was clean, the towels were changed every day and the bathroom was cleaned.. however the bed was only changed once during our 10 night stay and the room could have done with a dust when they came to make the bed. this hotel in not suitable for a disabled person.

To be fair, the hotel was good for the money I paid; very good location as it was just oposite the tube station and easy to commute considering the very good tube system in Berlin. Rooms were clean but as comfortable as you expect even with the price. Pillows were very big and uncomfortable and the bed/mattress was the worst I have ever slept on. Breakfast was very economic but edible. Overal, serrved the purpose of an "student stay". Forgot to say that hotel staff were very very good.

I liked this hotel. It is scrupulously clean. It is quiet and the staff is friendly but not intrusive. The WiFi works flawlessly. The breakfast is reliable and there is lots of space in the breakfast room. It is an older building but well-maintained. The elevator is a little weird because it stops a flight above or below the floor where your room is, so you have to take some stairs one way or the other. The location is super-convenient for public transportation and there is fabulous shopping nearby. I'll probably stay here again, the next time I'm in Berlin.

The online pictures are totally deceptive and fake; it is not what you get in reality. It is intellectual dishonesty. The rooms are musty and reeks of soiled carpeting. The service is really poor; the lady at the front desk was moody and unhelpful at all times. Did not even respond when we had trouble with accessing the internet, with the hotel computer and requested her help. A total put off, do not be deceived. If this is German hospitality, it sucks !

Comfortable, nice and clean hotel in the center with reasonable price. Breakfast buffet was also beyond expectation. The service, however, was unsatisfactory. I had to move heavy carriers all by myself without anybody's help. This was about rather a service problem than a tip, I think. Furthermore elevator is not that convenience.

Hotel Abendstern - quiet hotel
This hotel was nice and cosy. Very quiet one and you get a good night sleep. Big shopping streets were near. Local rainstation was also near and you could go very fast and easy to the center. Rooms were very basic, bathroom was clean ja bed good to sleap. Breakfast was good, but not fantastic. But that was understanding because this is quite small hotel and not like intercontinental :)

Modest but clean and comfortable hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly although spoke very little English but I was able to make myself understood. Breakfast was pleasant too, served in a nice bright and airy dining room. The hotel is very central, directly opposite the Charlottenburg S Bahn (train station) and about 3 to 4 mins walk from a U Bahn (underground station). The taxi fare from Tegel Airport to the hotel was Eur 12.75 and about a 25 to 30 min drive.

Um die ganzen vorigen Bewertungen und Kommentare etwas zu entkräften: Wir haben für 2 Übernachtungen für 2 Personen insgesamt 150€ bezahlt. Finde, da sollte man die Erwartungen niedrig halten. Zumal wir bewusst das Hotel nur zum Schlafen ausgesucht haben, ein Wellness-Tempel ist das natürlich nicht. Dementsprechend bekommt unser Aufenthalt ein solides OK. POSITIV: - direkte S-/U-Bahn-Nähe (2 min zu Fuß) - Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Frühstückscafé (Empfehlung "Cafe au Lait") und Restaurants (Empfehlung "Luardi") sind um die Ecke - schöner Altbau - sehr nettes Personal am Empfang - Zimmer und Bad sauber, wenn auch renovierungsbedürftig - Frühstücksbuffet viel Corona-bedingt leider flach, stattdessen durften wir uns an kühlen Getränken bedienen, wie wir wollten NEGATIV - sehr hellhörig und vom Hof her sehr laut, da im Hof auch Wohnungen sind, von daher schallt es nach oben - Zimmer renovierungsbedürftig, Bad sollte mal saniert werden - "Doppelzimmer" bestand aus 2 zusammengeschobenen Einzelbetten, die sich verschoben haben, sobald man sich an das Kopfende angelehnt hat - Türen nicht wirklich massiv, kein Safe im Zimmer FAZIT: Wer mit niedrigen Erwartungen kommt und nur was zum Schlafen sucht und tagsüber lieber Berlin erkundet, ist es perfekt. Man ist in 10 Minuten in der Innenstadt und hat alles was man braucht in Laufweite.
