Excellent location.

Easy access to Interstate 64 and N/S highways. Easy to get to historic Charlottesville, the Uof Va, and also Monticello. We liked the convenience of a bar and restaurant on site, but no free breakfast and the service in the restaurant was slow and we had to ask for water, condiments and , napkins! And my Tuscan Chiicken sandwich was very dry; they forgot to put in the pesto mayo. ☹️ On the other hand the desk staff wherever good and the room was clean and comfortable.

We had some issues in that our TV stopped working, there was toothpaste on one of the sink handles and we had 2 conditioners and no lotion. We ran out of Kleenex after one use. We were surprised at all of those issues as we have stayed here many times with no troubles.

Unfriendly front desk & terrible room location

We were given a room on the 2nd floor facing south. This side of the hotel shouldn’t even be allocated for guests. Our window faced the massive heating/cooling equipment and metal siding wall that blocked the highway noise. It would have been nicer to face a brick wall! When we asked to change our room, the front desk was less than friendly in informing us that the property is sold out. The communication could have been handled more pleasantly.

Close to the John Paul Jones Arena and UVA Campus

The hotel appeared nice. When we checked in there were no luggage carts. When I asked he was just like ‘Well someone must be using them’ (shrugs) The king size bed was very comfortable. The pullout bed from the couch had DIRTY sheets and candy, pills, wrappers etc in the back of it on the floor. They were unable to accommodate changing it to a room with two double beds, although I’d been calling for weeks. There is no tub just a shower with glass doors which did not stay closed so water ran onto the floor. Overall the staff were not very helpful or even polite. When I asked about the hold charge placed on my credit card, he said ‘oh you should just be glad it isn’t more!’

hotel is ok. Staff is friendly. Location is ok but you need a car. not very central. Rooms are expansive for what it is.

Pros: Close to Monticello.
I have stayed at other Holiday Inn and we had a good experience but not in this location. There's only one working elevator, pool is under renovation, the shower door layout is weird (you'll be splashed with cold water as soon as you turn on the water), no complimentary breakfast, the hallways are not as clean as expected (lots of bits of paper in the floor) and the staff are just being polite in answering questions but not friendly.
