Loved the location

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Pros: Location, amenities
Cons: Front desk staff that we encountered was incompetent
Location: Lots of restaurants and shopping. Within a reasonable drive.Montecello, homes of James Madison & James Monroe, Skyline Parkway, wineries, breweries
The Omni is right on the pedestrian mall, convenient to restaurants and shopping. There are many good restaurant options nearby. The hotel has valet parking, but we used the self parking which was convenient and free. We liked the Friday Happy Hour...free champagne. The security of key card access was a plus. The front desk staff was marginal. When asked about things to do in the area they were clueless and arrogant. When asked if there was a consergier service he replied "I'm it" and then proceeded to tell me that he had no knowledge of winery tours, tourist attraction, etc. He was able to relate that a trolley was available to UVA locations even after I told him we weren't interested in seeing the campus. I'd stay again but don't count on advice from staff. Housekeeping staff deserve kudos! Btw when we first arrived the bathroom door to our room would not close properly. I called and asked for a repair. The problem was repaired within 15 minutes by very professional service staff.

Great overnight stay

Posted Aug 22, 2016
Pros: The combination of modern design and "been around a while" feel.
Cons: In-swinging bathroom doors make bathrooms cramped. Shower curtain was too short, causing bathroom flooding. Consider upgrading to walk-in showers.
Location: Located directly on the wonderful, charming Charlottesville downtown mall. Plenty of restaurants and shopping.
Got a great rest in a pleasant and very clean room with an excellent mattress. Had a good morning workout in the modest but adequate fitness room. And an excellent breakfast with attentive service in the restaurant. Try the blueberry sausage patties.

Good hotel, good value and right on the downtown mall close to restaurants and shopping. We visited Charlottesville to sightsee and tour Monticello. I would highly recommend the Omni if you were to visit Charlottesville.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Odor/presence of mold/mildew in guest room.
Location: Great spot at the end of Market Street; lots of good places to eat; great coffee just outside the door; proximity to UVA. All good--just that odor!
We loved the location of this hotel, but we were disappointed to find that our room had a distinct odor of mildew, which did not dissipate over the three nights that we stayed there.

First Class Hotel in the Best Possible Location

Posted Aug 10, 2016
Pros: Service, service, service. Fantastic location. Restaurant and lounge onsite.
Cons: Not a lot. The atrium could use more trees and given more of a jungle feel. Seems like a lost opportunity to create a dramatic impression.
Location: Best possible location in C'ville. Right on the mall, tons of shopping, dining, arts and nightlife. One need ever leave the area to enjoy C'ville.
I have high standards, when it comes to hotels. I'm never afraid to book the most expensive hotel in town, but with that comes certain expectations of a high-quality lodging experience. I am pleased to say the Omni lived up to those expectations. From the moment I checked in, to the moment I checked out, the service was exemplary. Every member of the staff I encountered was polite, professional and eager to provide whatever services I required, with a smile. The hotel is located right on the Downtown Mall, an incredibly charming, historic, pedestrian mall, featuring great shopping, dining, theatre and nightlife. The hotel features it's own restaurant and lounge, which offers up a fantastic breakfast buffet. However, there is no shortage of wonderful restaurants and bars, located right outside their doors. The room was on the smallish size, but well appointed and quite comfortable, with good air conditioning. The King bed was extremely comfortable, with fresh, fluffy, white linens. The bathroom was also smallish, but very clean, great water pressure and lots of high-end amenities. The overall condition of the facilities was very good. Everything seemed to be in good repair and well maintained. My only complaint was that, overall, the facilities did seem a little dated. I'm guessing a thorough renovation is not too far off. But, don't let that stop you. The Charlottesville Omni was one of the best hotels I have ever encountered. I can't wait to return.

Nice hotel at a convenient location

Posted Aug 10, 2016
Pros: Comfort and cleanliness. Free self-parking
Cons: everything we experienced was very good
Location: Nice location near downtown and a quick and easy drive to Jefferson's Monticello
We checked in late and left the next morning but enjoyed our brief stay in a roomy, comfortable, clean and quiet room. The optional free self-parking was nice.

Lovely hotel close to Skyline Drive

Posted Jul 29, 2016
Pros: Room size, quietness, staff, comfortable bed
Location: Close to Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway
We got a room upgrade - to a huge suite. Staff were charming, and location is good for Shenandoah National Park and the start of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
