Convenient but obviously a budget motel

Posted Sep 15, 2017
Pros: Easy check in and check out. Price. Convenience. Free Wi-Fi (a surprising rarity at many hotels these days). Distance from car to room.
Cons: Bed, bathroom fixtures, ceiling (paint). I think it is more of a motel then a hotel. Vehicles park head-on facing room windows.
Location: It's right off the infamous route 29. There are plenty of businesses nearby including restaurants, gas stations, car dealerships, etc.
It is obvious the owners try pretty hard and take pride in the property but this is just a bad setup. At the current price point they are going to attract a certain element. Based on the number of pick-up trucks and their engine start-up hour the majority of the guest during our stay were contractors. The rooms are just meant for a night's sleep. The TV is nice and everything appears just clean enough where you shouldn't be afraid of bed bugs or germs. The ceiling paint was chipped in a few areas with chips ready to drop at any moment. Some of the bathroom fixtures were a little worn/rusty and the shower vent also. The King sized bed was easy enough to fall asleep on but made for a sore back each morning for my wife and I. We noticed the bedding felt 'damp' on our last night. I am guessing the bedding was washed but not dried entirely. All in all it is a good place to stop on a road trip but it wears on you the longer you stay. I wouldn't call it a family friendly place. Again everything was clean enough but it was just too "budget" for our liking. Compared to nearby hotels it truly was a bargain if you can live without some of the extra touches. Check in and check out was quick and easy. If you are on a budget it is at least clean but just not "pleasant", mostly because of how the rooms are situated, the other guests, the bed, etc., but that may be more preference then anything else.

You get what you pay for

Posted Sep 13, 2017
Pros: Cheapest we could find (still not cheap) The shower was hot and the bed was comfortable. Decent amount of TV stations
Cons: Upkeep, decor, maintenance
Location: Conveniently located to both places we needed to be--easy access to highways and restaurants, etc.
The elevator got stuck with my husband in it, which apparently (according to staff) is an ongoing problem. The refrigerator in our room did not close/seal, so it was warm and therefore useless. The shower wall had a huge broken part. The decor and lack of any kind of rug for bare feet was unpleasant. However, the shower was hot and the bed was comfortable. Decent amount of TV stations

Good for the Price

Overall, the hotel was find. Check-in was easy and fast, as was check-out. The room was clean and comfortable and relatively quiet. I was there for a quick overnight stay, but have stayed longer on previous trips. It is convenient and close to everything I needed.

Overall fine. Staff helpful and friendly. Room was a bit damp and hair dryer didn't work. But over all fine.

Good location with easy access to University and to various dining and shopping venues. A good stay for move-in day.

Good value.

Posted Aug 17, 2017
Pros: It was in a convenient location and reasonably priced.
Location: Just outside of the historic part of Charlottesville. Close to shopping and only a few minutes to downtown. Monticello and Michie Tavern are not far.
Reasonably priced. Clean. Since the rooms are non-smoking, a lot of people seemed to be standing on the walkway just outside the rooms smoking. That was my only negative, but I guess the hotel can't really control that.

close to UVA

Posted Jul 12, 2017
Pros: Proximity to UVA and continental breakfast
Location: Charlottesville, VA has everything, but you may have to drive a short way to get there.
We were touring UVA and needed a place to close to the campus. This hotel had no frills, but it was clean, safe and quiet.

Hotel on the route

Not as good as we expected. Other red roof inns were better. Husband was not impressed.
