A less than ok hotelPosted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: We picked this hotel for its convenience to our venue. The room cleaning staff did a nice job.
Cons: The service of the complementary breakfast could be faster. Security: Make sure the side door to the side parking lot requires a card key to open.
Location: We picked the location because it is close to where we were going downtown. It is convenient to downtown activities and sites.
Rating: a less than ok hotel. Nothing special. When I woke up in the morning, my left leg had bites all over it. I went home with itchy bites bumps all over my left leg. Complementary breakfast coffee and food items were frequently empty so people had to ask for replenishment of the food containers and wait so they could eat their breakfast. While we were there, the flow of people coming in to eat was not such that the food staff should have had difficulty. Security issue: The side door facing the quick food restaurant was always unlocked and did not require a card key.

Unexpectedly pleased!Posted Jul 29, 2015
We were looking for a budget hotel on our way home from a funeral, and I felt we got more than our money's worth. The room was very clean, and quiet, even though the hotel is on busy route 15. AC worked great, bed super comfortable, pleasantly updated furnishings, great water pressure in shower. WONDERFUL outside pool! only disappointment (which I didn't care much about) was that the sink was the oldest thing in the room, looked cracked and dis- colored. if I lived nearby, I'd come here for an overnight family getaway and spend time at the pool. Great deal!

Beware booking through expediaPosted Jul 27, 2015
We specifically asked to have adjoining pass through rooms when booking through Expedia. The hotel only had rooms next to each other. Was told by staff that Expedia often does not communicate to customers what they truly have. The manager said "Expedia will say anything to just sell you a room" I thought this to be ridiculous.

Reasonable HotelPosted Jul 16, 2015
Cons: Rude personnel.
Originally booked a room with a King Size bed.... Arrived, checked-in, went to assigned room and a found it with two full size beds.... Returned to front desk and and was then told that there were no rooms with a King Size bed available. (Note this room was booked several weeks in advance to my stay...) After additional conversation, I was then shown a room with a King Size bed that had "just became available".... Viewed said room and found it to smell of sewage and refused it... Upon asking front desk personnel what kind of compensation could be offered by the hotel due to not having a room as booked, I was was met with resistance, rudeness and combative behavior (specifically, Kevina....). I spoke with the Hotel Manager the next morning who was very pleasant and reported the previous night's rude and combative front desk personnel. Was told some kind of compensation would be credited to my payment method. Still waiting.....

Overnight stay to attend a concertPosted Jul 15, 2015
The Sleep Inn was more than I expected. The staff was pleasant . The room was clean and refreshing. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast meal the next morning had a fresh buffet that was very satisfying. The location and accessibility was very easy. A good experience.

Acceptable choice for familiesPosted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: Location is great, and the beds were quite good.
Cons: The breakfast items could be improved and diversified. Ensure the bath door can lock and the fan works.
Location: Monticello is only a few miles east on I-64, a great historical stop.
Nothing about the Sleep Inn "wows" you, and its a bit pricey for the total quality and amenities (about $110/night), but the room is comfortable while the mini-fridge was a terrific perk. We stayed in the hotel four nights while visiting my parents. The free hotel breakfast was mediocre, the bathroom door didn't lock, the vent fan did not operate, and the hallways were warm and stuffy. However, the beds were very good, linen fresh, shower water pressure excellent and the room A/C unit functioned well. I would rate this hotel higher at a slightly lower price, say $80/night. As for location, its just off I-64 with easy access to UVA and Monticello. Lots of fast food options just down the street if that is your thing. Note: I rate Sleep Inn higher than the Holiday Inn across the street. Stayed there last year and it has far less value (higher nightly cost with no free breakfast and less comfortable rooms). Sleep Inn rooms are a tight fit but I would recommend the double room for families of four or less.

montichelloPosted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: everything just a bit small for three adults
Cons: bigger room with an extra chair
Location: Monticello and The Historic Downtown Mall both nearby
Staff was nice. Our room, beds and bath were good. But for an adult brother, sister and mother the room was a bit tight for staying two days. We only had one chair, so the other two had sit or lay on the bed when not sleeping. The breakfast was good and so was the pool and whirlpool. We would stay again if it was only two travelers next time Montichello was only minutes away which was awsome and so was 8 blocks of "The Historic Downtown Mall". More than 120 shops and 30 restaurants (many with outdoor cafes with many, many towering trees to be in the shade) housed in the historic buildings on and around old Main Street. and ranging in all prices. We ended up eating there two times at two different places. Miller's was the first, excellendt steak n cheddar! The next night was at "CITIZEN BURGER BAR". Can't wait to go back with just hubby next time.

The room was very well-appointed. Nice bed and bedroom furniture. Large bathroom with very clean facilities. The location was good; it was very easy to get to downtown Charlottesville and Monticello. You do have to do U-turns to get into a different direction, so that's somewhat of a pain, but not really in the hotel's control. The breakfast was good. The coffee was just a little weak.

I asked for a king room in my booking. When I got there, they had me in a 2 double and had no king rooms. Except one they found on the 1st floor and it was so small, one person say on the bed for the other to cross the room. Stupid small.
