going to a funeral

Posted May 16, 2017
Cons: quiet furnaces....better breakfasts.....take rugs out of rooms....clear reservations....room keys that work better
The man at the desk couldn't find the reservation. Then gave us a key that didn't work. Breakfast was stale and yogurt was warm. Furnace in the room was very loud. BUT the lady at the desk was kind enough to let us check out at 12:30 instead of 11. The hotel was close to the funeral home. That would be my only reason for recommending this place.

Clean Hotel

Posted Nov 26, 2016 on Hotels
Overall the hotel was okay. The room was good and in the small town of Wallaceburg, it is located near many of the restaurants. However, if you are traveling for business, it's important to note that the rooms do not have an iron or ironing board. This was pretty annoying for me on my trip. Also, the breakfast frequently consisted of cold coffee and watered down orange juice. Otherwise, the food is what you would expect at a Days Inn; no warm meals. The hotel staff are very friendly.

Nice enough for the price

Posted Nov 15, 2016 on Hotels
The staff was friendly and there were no issues with the room. It was clean and well kept. I did have to inform the front desk upon checkout that the peep hole to the room had fallen out. Through the hole you could see 2/3 of our room with no problem. We didn't notice this until the next morning and the tube for the hole was on the floor in our room. It was a bit unnerving to realize someone could have watched us through the hole although I doubt that happened. I saw that some of the other rooms peep holes were also in disarray. I informed the front desk and they seemed to be nice people so I'm sure they are addressing the problem. But if you do stay here make sure you check your peep hole to make sure its secure and working properly.

Welcoming and comfortable

Posted Nov 14, 2016 on Hotels
The new owners are so very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, the bed and pillows very comfortable. They welcomed our small dog as if he were a member of our family. The hotel was easy to locate and there was plenty of free parking.

basic hotel met work requirements

Posted Oct 31, 2016 on Hotels
This is an old hotel. It's also the only decent hotel in town. The rooms were clean. The room had a queen size bed, a TV, and a desk. All the basics and none of the extras. Free long distance calling, but very slow free wifi. Complimentary breakfast wasn't much, but there is a Tim Horton's and Crabby's nearby. 15 minute walk to downtown Wallaceburg. I wouldn't vacation here, but for a work trip it met my needs.

Drive 20 min to Chatham

Posted Sep 21, 2016
I was in Wallaceburg for business staying two nights. The hotel is quite dated. I would classify it as a motel. It a hotel in its appearance. It smells musty. Because it was the only option in town, I stayed after noticing the room was quite dated and dusty. However, I found bugs in the bed and on the ceiling. I ended up checking out and staying 20 minutes away in Chatham.

The only choice in town, but not a bad choice

Check in was quick and efficient. The bed and room were fine. Breakfast was a simple affair, fresh apples were available which was nice.
