Ruby Falls with light show in Chattanooga, TN. Tennessee is definitely one of the more beautiful states in the US, and I was pleasantly surprised by all of the sights and events offered in Its small Chattanooga town. #roadtrip #waterlust #blue #red Sunrise on the Tennessee River. Nice little paddle-in campground in the middle of the Tennessee River downtown Chattanooga. A claustrophobic walk to get to it, but well worth it. Ruby falls is the 3rd most toured cavern and the largest commercial underground waterfall at 145ft (44.1 m) Magical place you'll love it ❤️ Another view. High Falls, or sometimes called Lovers Leap is a short walking distance through the rock gardens while finding all sorts of little surprises on the way. From the top you can see across seven states. Downtown Chattanooga at dusk from the middle of the Tennessee River. The view from the ridge watching Riverbend 2017 fireworks The best place to view the bridge and get some killer photos of Chattanooga is from the Hunter Museum of Art. #blue The Tennessee Aquarium houses a plethora of animals from many ecosystems ranging from reef saltwater to inland lakes. Often times they house injured animals which will not survive on their own in the wild. This non-profit aquarium helps animals recuperate and revive while living in a close to natural habitat. Money for visiting the aquarium helps pay for housing, feeding, and taking care of these animals along with helping reintroduce some back into the wild along with ecological research. The Tennessee Aquarium doesn't mess around. Not only does it house the largest freshwater aquarium in the world but they also have a floor-to-ceiling salt water tank chock full of reef-circling creatures with plenty of amazing viewing points (including an Humbling to walk thru, one marker reads that over 12,000 Civil War veterans are buried here. The topography of this cemetery makes it all the more dramatic. #roadtrip The sunrise between market st bridge and walnut st bridge Point Park has epic views of Chattanooga and the surrounding area. Tons of hiking trails and history. Chattanooga, located at the transition between the Appalachian Mountains and the Cumberland Plateau, is surrounded by various mountains and ridges.
One of these mountain ridges is providing a splendid observation point on the strategic important city and the Tennessee River. Hence it was the scene of the Walking down town in Chattanooga. Fish everywhere, even above you. It is a nice guided tour underground to the famous Chattanooga Ruby Falls! The Tennessee aquarium offers everything expected at a top of the line aquarium, but it also has a butterfly exhibit, and it's the best part.
Imagine an indoor rainforest filled with hundreds of jewel-colored butterflies that hover over flowers and sip nectar from feeding stations. These exotic and beautiful butterflies delight the senses, and visitors to the Butterfly Garden. Visitors are able to walk around the garden and watch as hundreds of butterflies dance around you. If your lucky one may land on you for a short rest. It alone makes the aquarium worth the visit.
Not to sure what to say. :-) A unexpected journey into the mountain to ruby falls. If you are not claustrophobic it worth a look. Facing the Hunter Museum of American Art. Wonderful premises. The walking bridge at sunrise. Surprisingly, it is a great zoo. I expected the variety of animals to be small because the admission price is so cheap, but it turns out that it's a terrific value. Facing Veterans Bridge on the opposite end of downtown Chattanooga. Lookout Mountain Point Park As the lights turned ruby falls ruby. A beautiful, historic hotel in downtown Chattanooga. Water cannons at sunrise. War and peace. Glow of a rainbow over silent canons at the top of Lookout Mountain, a strategic location during the Battle of Chattanooga in the American Civil War. Enjoy the windy scenic drive here, then enjoy the scenic views and trails in this National Park on Lookout Mountain. #StunningStructures I recently passed through Chattanooga, Tennessee. I decided to visit the Choo Choo while there. Amazing Sunrise on the Tennessee River. Paddling on the Tennessee River in Chattanooga. Hunter Museum on the left and Walnut Street Foot Bridge straight ahead. The awesome Tennessee Aquarium. One of the best aquariums I've ever been to. Snowing on the walking bridge. A storm was coming that night. Beautiful city! Looks like a church building burned down recently. Saw it walking around Chattanooga to the zoo. A great way to beat the heat & humidity. A short walk through the mountain and the end result is a beautiful underground waterfall. Next to the aquarium, don't miss these waterfall steps that people cool off on and run up and down the steps for exercise. #SpringFun #EndlessSummer One of the many bridges in Chatt Town!
The Holmberg Glass Walking Bridge The The view of Moccasin Bend in the Tennessee River with Chattanooga in the background. This is from the top of Lookout Mountain. Cute little seahorse hanging out being photogenic. Great historical park. Lots of interesting factoids about civil war but even better lookouts and natural rock formations. Always a good view. Point Park offers the most stunning views of downtown Chattanooga and the Tennessee River you will find. Take a walk along the river and read info placards on history of the city, including the Trail of Tears. #EndlessSummer Cannon view. This is a beautiful place to visit. Only takes about an hour to visit. Taken from the Walnut street walk bridge. Point Park When was the last time you saw one of these? And yes, it dispenses Coke in glass bottles. And yes, it tastes fantastic! View of the TN river from Coolidge Park. Love this town! Colorful lights on the Tennessee River. Unique tree on the way up the mountain from Craven Manor. Blue trees at the Bessie. Dusting of snow at Coolidge Park. Market Street Bridge Long Exposure Point park entrance Harold and the purple crayon :-) Condos adjacent to the Tennessee River facing the aquarium with the beautiful smokies providing the backdrop. The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga is a great place to take the family for the day! View of Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain from Stringers Ridge. A great Multi-uses Mountain Biking/Hiking Trail in North Chattanooga. The Super Moon was out on January 1st. How amazing it looked when it was so close. The Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga. An amazing aquarium, you can easily spend a day exploring it. A view of downtown Chattanooga from our room. Fun atmosphere! Looking for someplace a little different to stay? The Stonefort Inn in Chattanooga is perfect. The amazing dining room. Children's art area, with plenty of paper pencils and inspiration. Both my wife and kids favorite area. A little tacos dive, in the nouth shore of Chattanooga. It can be difficult to park so walk to it. WOW!! Never ever did I expect to find a successful blend of German and Southern cuisine! But the old advantage of simple is best defiantly applies here. A southern biscuit flakey and dense, paired with a schnitzel, thin pork lightly breaded and fried then finished with a touch of German mustard.
The beer is just a plus,
And anyone that follows me knows my love for patios, and this is a picture perfect one We found Nemo! Great local spot for some great breakfast and awesome treats all daylong. A bit on the high side but worth the money. Great patio out front, if you make your way here come early cause parking will go quick, or you can just walk ;-) Mega biscuit, The Elvis and the classic egg bacon and cheese!! This place is magical Walking bridges are special. Visit one and you'll see what I mean. A number of places I've been have a touchstone. This dog statue is one. Overlook from Raccoon Mountain. Lots of mountain biking trails up here! Ironman 70.3 World Championship, 2017 Delta Queen Departure from Chattanooga High Four! This should get us through the day.
Mean Mug has good coffee and pastries. Great place to sit and have a pizza pie it is right off the river front A massive, free standing tub at Stonefort Inn. This alone makes it worth the stay.
