Its a convenient location, but not welcoming-

The evening front desk associate was not welcoming and very rude - her tone was just out of place. I was hosting a guest and booked the room for proximity reasons and shortness of time.

A Gem

The hotel is in a great location: close to the subway, close to Chelsea, near loads of good restaurants and bars, close to midtown, direct subway line to the airport (JFK) etc. The hotel is nice and the staff are always very helpful and welcoming. We've stayed here twice and would definitely stay again, and recommend it to others.

conveniently located

Pros: location
Cons: My only suggestion is that a grab bar or a rubber bath mat would have made me feel more secure and prevent falling on the wet floor in the shower.
Location: Transit and restaurants close by, and cinema just around the corner with several screens to choose from.
This hotel suited my short stay perfectly. Things I needed to do were within easy walking distance, and transit when required was a simple one block walk away. Altogether a comfortable experience while in the Big Apple.

small but clean

Pros: clean--friendly service
Cons: rooms need minifridges...and airport transfers wold be great
For the few nights I spent in NYC, this hotel was close to perfect. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the room with adjoining bathroom was clean. Cleanliness is always a high priority for me, and this hotel passed the test. The room was small, but sufficient for a single person. I would have liked a mini fridge in the room because when you spend a few days somewhere, you'd like to keep food and drink cool. There was an ice bucket in room,but not much fits in there and ice had to be refilled frequently(and you had to go to the ice machine in basement to get it--a bit of a pain). My room, unfortunately, had no view--I looked right into the wall of an adjacent building, but I know that there are rooms with views. With movie channels on the large flat screen TV on the wall and free wifi and easy access into the internet without all those cumbersome passwords other hotels provide that change daily sometimes, my stay here was pleasant. Clean and quiet rooms, working air conditioner...aside from not having a fridge, I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. Also, the hotel does not provide tranfers to and from airports. I had to arrange for this myself.

Close to the High Line

The rooms are small but comfortable. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. There is a small bar in the lobby and you can bring your drinks up to the rooftop deck with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building.

Nice hotel in a quiet part of Manhattan!

Pros: I really liked the quiet location of the hotel that was close to a subway stop and walking distance to several places. The rooftop patio was great!
Cons: I wish the hotel had a full-service bar on the rooftop patio because it would take the hotel experience to the next level. A pool would be nice too!
Location: The hotel is located close to 2 train lines that give you access to all of the city! Flatiron district /Madison Square is walking distance from here.
I managed to check in late, but was greeted by friendly staff that made my check in experience easy and welcoming. The lobby was very chic and modern with great music and pretty nice bar area with a great happy hour special. When I got to my room, I noticed the chic decor was also found in the rooms despite the building being an older brownstone. The room was clean and acceptable by my standards, but it was on the smaller side of things from my previous hotel experience. However, I was travelling alone so the size of the room didn't bother me at all, but it may feel a little cozy if you stay with a partner. The rooftop patio was the main selling feature of this place and I spent some time up there enjoying the views and getting some fresh air. It was a great place to bring food and drink to enjoy the views, but I wish there was a bar up there for convenience. Unfortunately there was no pool, but there was a fitness center in the basement that is typical of a hotel. I thought the housekeeping staff was okay because it seems like they started cleaning rooms relatively early so it made it hard to sleep in or get ready without getting a knock on the door or hearing them in the hallway. They did fix my broken bathroom light when I reported it. On my last night, I heard people in the hall talking out loud and slamming doors in the middle of the night. Please be considerate of others because these spaces are confined so it seems louder in the rooms. Not hotel's fault though!

Nice place to stay in the heart of Chelsea

One weird thing - they charged my entire stay upon check-in, but didn't tell me. They just said they needed the card to hold. I've never seen that before, and the front desk staff was dismissive of our request to split the cost on 2 cards. Put a damper on an otherwise good stay.
