The experience was great but property is a old and it is visible everywere including flooring of the room, various systems, locks, plumbing...etc That said, the service and hospitality is unbeatable!

We had a lovely time and service is good and attentive. The views at beach side restaurants are amazing. That said this is no longer deserving of a five star rating in India and is not a good value for the enormous price we paid for 4 rooms for 3 nights(Granted we booked at peak holiday times but we noticed that resorts closer to Mahabalipuram are much more updated and modern for similar price)

I had stayed at a supposedly renovated Garden Block ground floor room on 22 Nov 2023. Despite the renovation, the bathroom was in terrible condition. The toilet flush did not work properly and while having a shower I was standing ankle deep in soapy water since it was not properly draining. The auto-close function of the main door was barely working and I had to pull it shut each time to ensure it was locked. The door did not look as though it had been polished during the renovation and even looked chipped in one place. My neighbour's room door camera faceplate was hanging from its base unit. The furniture in the coffee shop had damaged and peeling woodwork and the upholstery was stained and faded. I have been a guest at Fisherman's Cove for many years and they have to get their act together if I have to go back again.

Amazing beach front property with a very quiet beach with absolutely no crowd. The cottages were sea facing and very comfortable. Shower was luxurious. Room service was excellent. Just a short walk to the beach. Staff use a golf cart to transport people around the property. Food was fantastic both dinner and a breakfast buffet. Coffee was too milky for our likes. There was always a lifeguard or staff present when we were swimming in the beach!

You will feel bad writing some of the reviews, as you always felt part of the brand, family... This is one such review. Taj has been the epitome of services and the last 25 odd years I have been traveling to diff Taj properties. The idea was to have a family get together and for the price we had paid, we had great expectations. Turned out to be disappointment. While staff were courteous with signature Taj service, some areas were far below expectations. The food was without soul. As a chef and adored Taj for years, the food lacked any innovation, surprise, or passion. You could predict what the lunch and dinner menu will be after one look at breakfast and vice versa. Whiie the staff were good the food was a major disappointment. The wait time for any room service ( had aged parents) was 40 odd minutes or more.The property was how I had seen 20 years ago, lacking the newness be it technology or the construction.The room didn't have enough towels, the water leakage/seeping in the open shower, very poor lighting making it difficult to look for rooms in the night. The spa service was good and so was the staff.The staff felt overworked and stressed out and tired though they tried to put a brave front. We all have learned from Taj service/food/ so much and would go down as one of the below expectations property as far as Taj Is concerned.Tried speaking to the Exec chef and the General manager. The chef was busy while I was talking and not sure whether he got it.Not worth the price

Location and amenities awesome and you must spend 2 nights here to fully explore the resort and have a bit of fun. Beach area is awesome too and bay view restaurant is a good place to dine in too, but dining in during the day time rather than night would be better! I would recommend to my family and friends for sure!

WHAT WE LOVED: THE STAFF The entire staff of this property gets an A for a terrific job. The front desk staff, all of the staff at all of the restaurants, housekeeping, the pool attendants, the beach attendants, the drivers and the entire staff gets an A for a job well done. The staff of this facility are humble, kind, attentive and overall excellent and their jobs. The food at the facility was also pretty good. WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE IMPROVED: THE PHYSICAL FACILITY. The Facility is in desperate need of a facelift. Physically, this resort needs to shut down for a year for a complete renovation. The overall buildings and all of the rooms need to be renovated. There is much potential in this property however the physical facility itself is in dire need of a complete overhaul. The pool and its general surroundings is dilapidated. All of the pool furniture needs to be replace with modern functional furniture’s. The pool itself needs to be redone and all of the structures including the swim up bar needs to be refurbished. Swim up bar rarely has anything to drink and the staff needs to go inside for simple drinks that is ordered, even a simple beer. The rooms need a total makeover especially the bathrooms which smells terrible in the mornings. The housekeeping staff are terrific they would come in, in the morning when we complained about the awful smell coming from the bathrooms and they would spray chemicals, but this was a temporary fix.
