The hotel was charming and the staff friendly and responsive. However, there are several serious problems with the facilities. First, the gravel driveway up to the hotel is steep and heavily washed out in places and potholed. When we came back after 10PM one night, it was raining and there are no lights or reflectors lining the drive. Second, the parking lot was full and I had to get help from the staff finding a place to park, but I was parked perpendicular to another vehicle 10 feet away who could have easily backed into mine. There are no ramps at the entrance and baggage has to be carried up the entrance stairs. Thank goodness for the indoor elevator. The floor in our room was uneven and seemed to flex too much. The wash basin faucets, separate hot and cold are spring loaded and have to be held open and it is difficult to wash your face and hands. All along the exterior walls and foundation, there are cracks and chipped paint. The pictures of the rooms and dining room are misleading. The dining area we had to use was not the one pictured. It had large round, family style seating. Our room was much smaller. If you are over 6 feet tall, you have to stoop entering the bathroom door. Food: the eggs were overcooked and the bacon, limp. I apologize for the candor, but must be because we were disappointed.
