    4/5 Good

    Private and quiet!
Our family lives in four states and it is difficult to get together, even in normal times! This location was private and scenic. We had lots of room and sleeping options. The fire pit was a big hit and so was the nearby donkey.

    2/5 Poor

Disappointing. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
I don’t usually don’t leave reviews, but feel it is important to convey some issues to future renters. First, the good. The downstairs was acceptable, up to date, and fairly clean. The kitchen was clean and updated and the large bar on the island made it easy to feed kids. The check-in process was easy, the property manager communicated with us, and the kids had fun fishing in the pond. Next, the bad. The furniture was dingy, dated, and some had a musty smell. The deck hadn’t been cleaned in a long time - it was slick to walk on. All three vehicles in our group had difficulty getting up the driveway, so we had to use the drive off Hopalong which was a little better. Some rooms froze while others were hot. The WiFi only worked on non-Apple devices so we had to create a hotspot with a laptop that only worked somewhat. Finally, the ugly. The upstairs is in desperate need of attention. It looked and smelled like a 30 year old dorm room. Most of the sheets were either stained, smelled musty, or both. One bed spread smelled like vomit. The bathroom smelled of old urine and the sink did not drain. There was significant mold growing on the shower ceiling. The sofas should have been thrown away decades ago. The doors, walls, and baseboards had never appeared to have seen a cleaning cloth. The house has potential, but it needs a thorough deep cleaning, some paint, and maintenance. I wish we had known this prior to our visit.

    2/5 Poor

    TERRIBLE beds !!
The house was large, which was good for our group but the beds were awful, especially upstairs. Military cots have more cushion. Plus a couple of the bed spread had huge stains. Some of the bed mats had yellow-pee stains. I could tell that they cleaned the house. The bathrooms, floors, wall, and even the baseboards were clean. They just do not put any extra care into taking care of the beds and when you do not sleep well it ruins your day. Even our children complained. My check in code message did have to make sure to bring extra toilet paper(and we did) but I was a little surprised that there was no toilet paper, paper towels, or soap. This was my first stay ever to arrive with nothing. Also we did have to fill the propane tank to grill and I had read that may be a possibility. The house was a little dated but I had read that on some of the review and I thought the look of the house was still nice. We did enjoy the hot tub and the little bon fire area. The internet-WIFI NEVER worked. The community area with the pond and Jack was nice. We enjoyed fishing and feeding Jack. This place would really be nice if updated and cleaned better.

    5/5 Excellent

    Guys golf trip
We had 15 guys stay Here for our weekend golf trip. The house was big enough to hold us and we had a blast. The only problem was the WiFi didn’t work very well, only 1-2 devices could even log on at a time and the service still wasn’t good when your on. The house was really comfy, and plenty of room for us all to hang out together. The owner is really nice and responds quick to messages.

    Ski retreat
Enjoyed our time in Waynesville. The location was close enough for us to enjoy the catalochee ski slopes. Would recommend to others!
