In merchants square A quiet scene in Colonial Williamsburg. This maze is located in the gardens that surround the Governor's Palace. One of my most favorite spots :) colonial Williamsburg Battlefield from Revolution Some of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. You should be sure to try the blueberry and the white Russian truffles! Lots of picturesque side streets and artisan shops While visiting the historic area, don't miss the reenactments including the ox cart. #Colorful #InStone Wonderful spot to stroll around and get to know a little bit about our history. The winters are slow and the town closes early, but during the rest of the year they have events. Worth a swing by. And definitely check out the dog tavern- great brews and meals. Annnndd getting to know photo edits haha Williamsburg,One of the oldest cities in America Bruton Parish Episcopal Church.
#snow Capitol Building Colonial Williamsburg, Governor’s Palace, at sunset after fresh snow. Christmastime is the most joyful of seasons in Colonial Williamsburg, and certainly the best time to visit. The entire town is adorned with handmade wreaths such as this one, all containing fresh fruit or unique items that correspond with the building they're placed on. Steaming colonial-style hot chocolate is served by a few of the buildings, and fireplaces are aplenty. Wonderful spot to stroll around and get to know a little bit about our history. The winters are slow and the town closes early, but during the rest of the year they have events. Worth a swing by. It seems if you're interested in photos of Williamsburg sans tourists, it's best to go in the morning. The employees of Williamsburg are often relaxing, taking a moment's break, and it's nice to marvel at their clothing and the buildings without tourists stepping into view. Carriage ride Drums & Fife Wonderful spot to stroll around and get to know a little bit about our history. The winters are slow and the town closes early, but during the rest of the year they have events. Worth a swing by. And definitely check out the dog tavern- great brews and meals. Drums & Fife daily at 5pm Another lovely shop Best rated restaurant in Williamsburg with great decor and service. Food is good for a tourist area but a bit overrated. The Brick House Tavern Goods for sale at the post office. Taken April 2012. Colonial Williamsburg is a place where time has stopped, voluntarily by the many talented actors and locals who wish to capture the historical era of this place. The homes have been restored to show their actual architecture and design, as built in the colonial American times. If you close your eyes long enough, you can place yourself right back into the days of horse-drawn carriages and local pubs. This was the life Colonial Williamsburg in the snow.
#snow Fireworks from the Fourth of July, 2014, taken in Colonial Williamsburg. During the reenactment. Nice getaway weekend town especially if you are into American Revolution History. Strolling down Duke of Gloucester Crim Dell in spring When we travel we always love finding local #breweries to try some new beers. This one was a great find. #virginiabeercompany has some great beers. We always try a #beerflight to sample many and then buy a #pint of our favorite. I really liked the Scene of trees
