Ideal for shopping and sightseeing.Posted Sep 27, 2015
Pros: Terrific staff. Everyone so friendly and accommodating, nothing a bother.
Cons: The window blinds in the bathroom were very dusty . Only bottled water to buy in room, would have expected complimentary water, at least on arrival.
Location: Perfect location for shopping and sightseeing. Railway station 15 min walk, or regular bus service available. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
Great stay in this hotel, as usual. We visit once a year and are never disappointed. Couldn't book twin room, but on arrival was told that we were upgraded to a deluxe twin - perfect!

Went by train and the Blossoms couldn't be better for the city link bus. Very very pleasant staff all round. Can't do enough for you, one even leant me a plug to charge my phone as I'd only taken my USB connection. I knew the hotel years ago and it has been tastefully refurbished. It has the smallest lift I've ever seen but it serves its purpose! Breakfast nice and ate in one night and it was ok/good.

overcharged and poor servicePosted Aug 31, 2015
Very dirty cutlery at breakfast – chocolate colored lip marks on 2 spoons on set table I was directed to. Tiny bedroom. Price quoted was $124 total and then site changed it to $149, which is far more than the Corporate rate of 80 British pounds I was entitled to. I discussed with manager, he did not send me the promised email to resolve this complaint. Duvet on bed far too hot for summer, they could not provide blanket as an alternative when asked.

Great staff, shame about most of the rest...Posted Aug 14, 2015
Pros: Great service, great location, very comfortable bed and top notch linens.
Cons: Please spend some money, Macdonald - the place deserves it.
Formulaic, old fashioned and very tired (the premises, not me), the place needs a complete refurbishment, preferably by someone whose head is not stuck in 1970s provincial Britain. Failing that, at lease please clean the bedroom carpets - they really were very nasty. All that said, the whole experience was made so much better than bearable by the most impressive team of staff I've encountered in years: young and sparky, incredibly helpful and mindful of their guests' comfort. Breakfast was also pretty good for a place this large.

Cons: Could do with a bit of updating. PIty there's no on-site parking
Location: Walking distance to all the shops, cathedral and the race course. Vintage open top bus tour which was good fun. Chester zoo is close by and v.good
Good location. Close walking distance to sites in city.

Lovely clean hotel right in the Centre of Chester. Friendly service. Considering how close the Hotel is to Cruise Night Club (and considering our room was facing it), no noise kept us awake.
