Good Hampton hotel close to historic Cheyenne

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Excellent hotel and a credit to the Hampton Inn chain. This hotel is on the outskirts of Cheyenne with a number of other hotels/motels around 1 mile from the downton historic centre. This is in the nicer outskirts of Cheyenne as there is a less appealing area of Cheyenne over the Union Pacific railroad where there seems to be another selection of hotels. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in good condition and the rooms comfortable, clean and a reasonable size. The internet service works well at all times and there is a nice gym and pool which we used. The business centre was used by us to print off our boarding passes and this worked well also. Finally the breakfast for each of our 2 nights stay was excellent. It was varied and there were both hot and cold options. First day we had the fajitas and the second day the lovely omlettes. The breakfast area is a nice comfortable chair relaxed space rather than a cafeteria style and that was a nice touch also. All in all an excellent stay.

Nice, but we drove to the Holiday Inn next door. The Hampton Inn sign is confusing.

Stay away from this hotel!!

Ants in our bathroom. The beds were way too soft. TV in room narrated shows even though we kept trying to fix it. Then all of a sudden TV in room went to Spanish. Front desk staff didn't seem concerned, offer us to try another stay or refund our money.

Very clean and comfortable

Just minor irritations with the room conditions. We had to contact the front desk to help with problems with the fridge and bathroom but both were corrected very quickly. Make sure you get directions for Jacuzzi as we were not informed at check in and had problems.

Location: It is cowboys and trains here. We like both so had a good time.
Stayed two nights. Got in late first night. Breakfast was very good. We appreciate that when traveling. Nothing fancy, but nice. Everyone was very pleasant.

Excellent accommodations! Friendly, safe.

Pros: See above.
Cons: Need firm mattresses.
Location: (see above)
We very much enjoyed a one-night stay at this Hampton. It was bright, clean, easy access in/out and very safe. Easy on/off I-25 and short distance to downtown Cheyenne. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was terrific. The ONLY thing we would didn't like was (for us) the mattress was too soft.
