Old hotel with broken down facilities

Posted May 13, 2016
I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights originally booked it for a week. I had the worst time of my holiday in Chaing Mai at this hotel. The rooms are old and the the most of the facilities were not working or as the manager put it "under fixing" I had few issues during my stay i will only share 2 of them. On first day of my stay went to have breakfast there was no coffee so i asked for some coffee and the girls simply added boiling water to the left over coffee from the first batch. On my final day of stay there was no hotel water at all i mean literally no water out of the tap then when I complained the manager tryed to blame me and finally when their "engineer " cane up to look there was dark brown water coming from the tap. Even after all this they refused my early check out request,so i had to get expedia involved. I WOULD AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COST. NEVER AGAIN

Average hotel

The lobby of this hotel is gorgeous. The rooms, not so gorgeous. Everyone and everything ages. So it is inevitable that hotels show a little wear and tear. The rooms and furniture would have to be renovated and clean to maintain their four star status. I am a seasoned traveler and the most important thing is cleanliness. What is the point of four star service when you go up to a dirty room? I'll be specific. The lamp next to the bed had so much dust I could write my name in it. The entire room was dusty. In the bathroom, the light above the mirror was dirty. The area below the window was filled with dust and dirt. If my room had been clean I would have stayed for the entire month. I moved out after two nights. I am very happy at Yuan Hostel and will be here for the next 28 days. It's unfortunate about the plaza hotel becaus the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfast was good with a large variety of foods for every tastes. If there was a guarantee that the rooms would be cleaner would I return. YES!
