Not clean

Posted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: I didn't find anything at all to my liking
Cons: almost everything. Mainly the cleanliness of the room
This hotel was not a good experience. I walked down the hallway smelled as if someone was cooking in there room, got to the backstairs and it reeked of smoke. When I got into my room there was hair on my sheets and a dead cockroach in the corner of the bathroom I checked out as soon as I could

Very old hotel that needs to be cleaned more often

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Large rooms
Cons: Everything! The hotel is in dire need of renovation
The title says it all. The hotel is pretty old and the facilities look like they belong to the eighties. It woldn't have been so bad if they bothered to clean up the rooms. I stayed in the hotel for 2 days and nobody cleaned my room during my stay. The hotel also smelled funny and I was afraid of using the toilet because the toilet seat looked dirty and yellow with age. The only good thing about the hotel is that the rooms are large and comes with an oven, big fridge and microwave oven and it is cheap. I would definitely not advise anyone to stay here. Add a little money and get something better somewhere else

This was the most horrible hotel room I've ever in

Posted Jun 15, 2015
The room was filthy. There was cigarette ashes everywhere, the controls to the air conditioner was caked on with nasty dirt, the sheets were dirty, the comforter had holes in it and it was too nasty to even walk on. When I went to the front desk to request clean sheets I was told that the housing staff has left at 4 p.m. and I had to see the manager the next day to see about a discount on my room. The next day at 10 a.m. the hotel has someone knock on my door to ask me if I was checking out or staying another day(I thought check I was at 11 a.m.).needless to say I thought Expedia did a really good job on checking the credentials of the hotels that's on their website. I was very disappointed not only with the condition of the hotel room but with the experience of the staff and management of the hotel. I really hope Expedia does the right thing correct the situation not allowed this to happen to a fellow traveler.

Convenient but halls are smoke filled and noisy

Posted May 17, 2015 on Hotels
Arrived at 2am, sign on Americas Best Inn directed me next door to Budgetel Inn Glen Ellyn; actual room was at Budgetel. Outdoor appearance is run-down; lobby is run-down. Staff are friendly. Hallways & non-smoking guest room smell of smoke; frequently ran bathroom exhaust & AC unit to clear air. Remote control did not work, which staff indicated was chronic problem in my room & offered to put me in another, but I was settled and only staying 4 nights. Had to manually adjust channels & volume. Hot water slow to get to room; 3rd morning there was very little water pressure. Few electrical outlets, used the bathroom outlets for everything. One lamp by bed did not work, even after changing the bulb. Switch by door turns on/off floor lamp and MICROWAVE. No extra blankets when cold at night. Second room rented for family, had no water pressure. Selected hotel due to proximity to Wheaton College and Roosevelt Rd. Price was fair, but comfort was disappointing. Other Guests got noisy slamming doors or yelling after 10pm. Complimentary continental breakfast was edible: cereal, toast, bagels, cream cheese and jelly; nothing fancy, Styrofoam and plastic. Dunkin' Donuts next door was very convenient. Other restaurants walking distance too. I might stay again by myself, but would not subject my family to this place without full disclosure and their advance approval.

worse experience.

I did not even enter the hotel room as the outside was cluttered with unsavory individuals and two police cars. Once inside the service was horrid, rude unfriendly, very unprofessional. Highly disappointed.

a little scary

Posted Sep 19, 2014 on Hotels
The only thing this hotel had going for them was the bed was actually comfortable. The fact that the hotel is 3 different buildings was a little weird. America's best inn is actually the budgetell. It was very confusing. They really need to update and put in things that are not falling apart. Total dive.

Worst hotel ever

Posted Sep 11, 2014
I have stayed at a lot of hotels in my life. This was by far the worst ever. Dirty stained sheets. Constant noise and yelling from othe "guests". Unresponsive staff. Jacked up rates due to convention. Sleep in your car before you go here. Seriously
