Fixing up

Posted Mar 21, 2017
Pros: Inexpensive and an acceptable breakfast included
Cons: The parking lot and trash receptacles.
Location: Shopping and restaurants within a five mile radius.
We have stayed at this hotel at least 20 times. Recently ownership has been remodeling, painting the outside, installing fabricated wood floors. Unfortunately they have difficulty keeping trained staff and the work seems slow and discombobulated.

We didn't have hot water but the hotel staff came and fixed it. No elevators which was terrible to carry all of your luggage up steps. Will never stay here again

Economical

Posted Mar 5, 2017
The room had no carpeting which made it very loud. Children were in the halls running around hollering and crying into the late evening. A lady was loud, crying and arguing with someone who was complaining about her kids.

Family visit

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: Quiet and convenient for my purposes.
Cons: See comments above about refreshing and repairing.
Location: Easy access to main roads but not noisy neighborhood. Near Oak Brook Shopping Center..
I've stayed here before - okay for price, quiet, rooms amply sized. No heads up (that I noticed) on Expedia site that hotel was under renovation. Had to change rooms. No elevator and no staff to carry suitcases upstairs. Holes above beds where pictures had been removed. Original room had mold on bathroom wallpaper and peeling ceiling. Torn desk chair repaired with black tape. Lobby is nice and it's clear the place has potential indoors and out if/when spruced up. Overall my main complaint is that I didn't know what I was walking into; I'd have paid a little more to stay elsewhere.

This place was the worst!

Posted Feb 9, 2017
Some key points from our stay for me, my husband and two toddlers... The room was smoke filled Burn holes everywhere Sofa bed must have never been cleaned since they opened and was torn to shreds Toilet didn't flush they made us plunge it ourself..asked for the plunger for the 3rd time and I guess they thought handing me a plunger in a trash bed and telling me to keep it was sufficient for them. They never offered another room and the hotel was clearly empty enough to do so. No blankets for the sofa bed, and they handed me 2 thin blankets and told me that was all they had. No towels at the pool. The plunger did me in.

Trying hard but falling short

Posted Jan 23, 2017
Pros: breakfast, location
Cons: soundproof, soundproof, soundproof, take down signs pointing to non-working attractions or simply fix the broken stuff.
We booked here for a weekend getaway to attend a birthday celebration. I can see a bright future for Clubhouse Oakbrook but they are not there yet. The Jacuzzi was closed, yet numerous signs pointed guests to it. The indoor pool was open but virtually unheated. The walls were thin and the screaming children next-door sounded like they were at the foot of our bed--I am hard of hearing and rarely notice noise, but this was bad. The breakfast was very good, and they are aiming for improvements, so I would give it another try.
