Chicago lakeshore hotel.

Posted Oct 17, 2017
Nice Basic hotel, close to downtown ( 15-20 min). Shuttle from hotel is very convenient, pick ups are at set times. Metra train to south shore is easy and clean. A subway and Metra train maps make it easier. Freeways are very close to hotel and make getting around fast. Hotel was basic, would have been nice to have a fridge in the room. Hotel dining was good and a fair price but lots of others great places to eat in the area.

Close to university of chicago

It is what it is. Decent room, clean and good repair. Kind of motel-like, but with security door with 4 rooms entering from parking lot (well lit). Cheapest around. No bugs.

Shady, overpriced, disgusting

Horrible hotel staff, very dirty rooms. I don't know how they are able to justify their $170 per night price tag

In need of major update

Posted Oct 15, 2017
Hotel is run down and rooms are outdated. Carpets are old and room had a musty smell. I would never stay here again.

Hotel Zero

Posted Sep 21, 2017
Pros: Staff at the nearby restaurant were fabulous. Gloria and the morning desk staff were great.
Cons: Everything.
Location: 10 minutes from the University. It was the only available hotel, not worth it.
I had to take photos of the interior of the room in order to get a room change the following morning. The evening staff was indifferent and thought it was amusing. We could not sleep and requested housekeeping to leave us extra sheets to cover floor, bed and furniture that had not been cleaned. We also kept a canister of disinfectant and cleaned out own room.

NO DRINKING WATER! Front desk staff - unhelpful

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Pros: It is on the shorefront.
Cons: furniture is old and unkept (see pictures); rundown appliances
Location: Far away from downtown; nice location in the shore front.
There is no way of getting a glass of drinking water (except if you want to drink tap water), not even if you want to buy it! They refer you to go get your water to the next door "La Quinta" hotel which are not helpful either and deny to have water. Frontdesk staff in general is unhelpful and quite unfriendly.

We apologize for the inconvenience however our front desk staff and I did our best to help with the water situation, we don't have a water fountain at lake shore lobby due to our lobby being very small. The tap water is clean and most of our guest do indeed drink tap water , our service is always very kind . But we do appreciate the review .

nice area, poor service

Posted Aug 26, 2017
I stayed in this reasonably priced motel right next to the lake and walking distance to Hyde Park for 2 nights. Check-in was not pleasant. The receptionist ignored me for a long time while helping someone booking an event and was generally not very polite or friendly. No apology for the wait. My key card stopped working after the first night. Again no apology. Staff needs basic customer service training. Room was ok but deadbolt didn't engage. Pool was closed. No microwave. Decor not very appealing. If you want be on the south lakeshore and are on a budget this may be a good choice. My first time in Chicago so I'm not sure what the standard should be.
