Not the best

Posted Nov 28, 2017
Totally was not worth how much I paid for. Very disappointed in everything. The area, the room, and the staff, were all just not the best. Parking was bad. Just really not the best experience or stay in Chicago at all. Only 5 channels worked on the television, the bathroom was not clean, the sheets had stains on them, had no service and the WiFi didn’t even work. Really wish there was a refund that I️ could haven gotten. And the room smelled like something died inside.

Thanks for staying with us. And sorry about your experience. We haven't private parking, but you can choose the street parking for free around the hotel. Otherwise you can park in public parking a lot, it's $15 one night, the parking a lot just 3 min from the hotel. And we have wifi and password is on the front desk. If you can not find you can ask the front desk. And we We appreciate your feedback!

You get what you pay for in Chicago.

We found out there are multiple hotels in Chinatown and this must be the least popular one as many of the cabs tried to drop us off at the other one even after giving them the address of ours. Keep in mind that I am not complaining, just giving information about the room. There is no elevator so you must walk up the stairs for your room. We were on the first level so it wasn't too bad. I feel for those on the upper floors. The room we got was small. The queen bed took up half of the room and it didn't feel like a queen size. There is no refrigerator in the rooms and you cannot get one. They have a community one in the lounge but I was not putting my diabetic supplies there for chance they would be stolen. Speaking of stolen, they make you sign a document that states that you understand that they have no safe and if anything is taken out of your room (stolen) they are not responsible for it. The room we were in had a broken toilet. When flushed, it would continue to run until you jiggled the handle. The chain would get caught so jiggling it would stop it. The window would not latch so it would constantly slowly roll down. I had to place a pen between the panes to stop it from sliding down. Also, a light switch would not work properly but it was the closet light. These issues were never brought up to staff as they were no big issue to us. It got us what we needed, but in the future, we will be spending more and going somewhere else to stay.

Downtown accommodation for the cost-conscious

Posted Oct 5, 2017
This hotel is in Chinatown and is within walking distance to the Cermak-Chinatown train stop. It's easy and cheap to travel from Midway to this stop via CTA. The hotel has basic accommodation, meaning: no elevator, a bed and ensuite bath. It's cleanish. Good price for cost-conscious given its location to McCormick Place and downtown points of interest.

OK budget hotel

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Cons: Install a lift.
Location: Lots of good Chinese restaurants within walking distance. Train station one block away.
Stayed here because of price as hotels in downtown Chicago, where I was attending a conference, were horrendously priced. Yes, its a budget hotel so should not complain to much about lacking facilities such as no lift to go to my 3rd floor room. Room was small, but tidy and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Chinatown Hotel - A hotel for the budget minded

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Pros: The hot water is the quickest I have ever had at a hotel. There are many good Chinese restaurants within walking distance. Short 13 min. walk to the M
Cons: Clean under the beds, provide a floor mat for the bathroom,
This is a minimal hotel and very old. There is no elevator or parking. The TVs do not work properly. Doors are in poor condition. The TVs are not connected to cable but use the local TV stations and have very poor reception, losing the signal frequently. They replace towels daily, however the towels are very thin and small, there is also no floor mat for the shower. Plastic cups are removed daily but not replaced. The beds sheets are not changed daily or the bed made. When I looked under the bed, I found all sorts of surprises that have accumulated over the years, apparently they do not clean under the beds - ever. I found another hotel just around the corner for only $20 a night more and brand new. There is an ottoman for a desk chair. Very uncomfortable. Very tight quarters, not much room to access the closet or move around the bed. As expected for a hotel in the city, there is a lot of noise at night, especially when the trash is picked up.
