Rooms very small. No regulation on room temp. No bathroom fan! No small refrigerator. Wait staff was nice but the valet guy who came with our car said this wasn’t a loading zone when in fact, that’s all people were doing there!!

There was a big problem with getting the tv going. Not only did it take about an hour for someone to come fix the tv, but I had to call twice! Then, it took the guy a good while to get it going. THEN, just to change channels was a time consuming and irritating task!! It's as if you don't want people to really watch the tv! Plus, I was confirmed with having a bathtub/shower combo, but no bathtub. So, they had to change my room, which I did appreciate. Needed that bath BAD!! I did love the 2nd room, though, and I do hope to stay there again soon.

The room smells like mildew and the air is so stuffy. No fan in the room or bathroom. The rooms are TINY. I would have left the moment I arrived if I could get a refund. This place is sub par.

River Hotel is my favorite every time I go to Chicago, the location of the hotel is perfect for tourists that walking distance is a great option to explore the icons of the city.

We stayed in the Executive Suite with 2 queen beds. We were staying with another couple so it was very important to have our own private bathroom and bedrooms. When we booked it was difficult to tell for sure if the room was setup this way & we could find no other reviews that confirmed this. Upon arrival we were pleased to find out that there were in fact two separate sleeping quarters that could be closed off from each other and each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The staff was exceptionally friendly every time we encountered them. From checking in, to holding our bags while we waited for the train they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The location was phenomenal. We were right across Wacker drive from the river making the Chicago Riverwalk and boat tours all within walking distance. It was also very handy to have the river taxi right across the road from us making transportation from Union Station very fast and a unique experience to welcome you to the city. Many other reviews stated that the bedding was outdated and that the elevators were slow, but this was not the case. The elevators quick and functional & the bedding was all recently updated white bedding. Another great thing I love is the complementary bottled water stations on each floor. As you know the city adds up quick, so at the end or beginning of each day it was nice to know you did not have to shell out more money to have a purified bottle of water. Overall our stay was wonderful.
