Great Pool and StaffPosted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: Great Front Desk Staff - Ruby and Jocelyn Great Pool
Cons: Open the Tiki Bar on Saturday's! Fix the Sleep Number Beds
We booked a room at this hotel simply because we wanted to sit by the pool and relax (we live no more than 10 minutes away). We were greeted by Ruby and Jocelyn at the Front Desk who were amazing, friendly, and very accommodating. They were everything you could ask for as an ambassador of your brand. They picked out a room with great access to the pool and let us know about all the amenities of the hotel. One amenity that we did not know about was the Tiki Bar which we were told would open at 4pm on Saturday. Alas, we discovered to our dismay that the Tiki Bar would not be opening as they had not staffed it for this day, due to low occupancy (although we were told the next day they sold out?). Although this was a disappointment, it did not detract from what was a very enjoyable stay. I myself am in the Food and Beverage industry and understand the importance of controlling labor costs. However, I also understand the mantra "if you don't staff it, you can't sell it". With the 8-10 SAK construction guys and several other couples hanging out around the pool (all of which brought our own beverages), I am guessing that close to $1000 in sales was missed (with at least $100 coming from us). Just my opinion. The only other issue was that our Sleep Number Bed control did not work. When we left for dinner we informed the front desk who said that Engineering would take a look at it while we were out. When we returned it still did not work and no information was provided.

Pleasant stay near ChicagoPosted Aug 3, 2015
Very nice hotel....very comfortable, clean and quiet. The only criticism I would have is that the bathtub drained extremely slowly after showering.

One nighterPosted Jul 27, 2015
Nice clean room for one on a one night stay. Good shower head and water pressure. But the fan in the bathroom was extremely loud. Bed was a bit soft for me.

Our night was good just an occasional noise here and there. Just a few complaints like room doors slamming shut guide for TV did not work and strange smell upon entry to the room.

Checked me in and didn't mention anything about breakfast and wifi. Nothing in the place has anything about complimentary breakfast. They also didn't replace bar soap. But other than that, room is clean.

Chicago Suburb Fun!Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Rooms are great, staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area.
Cons: Pool bar should be open ALL DAY Saturday and Sunday, if not also Friday. Bar should not be closed to public on a major summer holiday.
Location: Easy train ride to downtown Chicago! Many fun restaurants down Milwaukee Avenue as well!
Even with construction and LACK of restaurant, the staff utilized a banquet room and made a great temporary restaurant! There were workers working to get the renovations done ALL DURING THE 4TH WEEKEND so you can tell they want it to be back to normal! Not disruptive, though! The pool was fun except we disagreed that a family should be able to rent the entire bar and eating area over the busy 4th of July. In other words, the bar did not open and they just had their food and drinks there. Nonetheless we really enjoyed the pool. Rooms are very nice and very comfortable!
