Great Location

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Pros: The staff was genuinely helpful and friendly.
Cons: Happy Hour complimentary snacks were marginal at best. I realize when you host this event every night it is imperative that you keep costs down.
Location: We did it all...The Bean at Millennium Park, Willis Tower, Navy Pier, The Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum. We walked to almost everything.
Hotel Staff were friendly and helpful. Our 1st visit as tourists to Chicago. The offer to text us was welcome and we used it several times for recommendations for restaurants with specific food items like deep dish pizza. We were able to walk to almost every attraction on our list.

Location! Location! Location!

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Pros: We liked several things:Tony, hotel ambassador, complementary reception-four drinks & made to order breakfast, & the restaurant attached to the hotel.
Cons: There was confusion with the drink and breakfast tickets. A better explanation is needed.
A girlfriend and I spent a couple days in Chicago. We could walk to all the places of interest....Navy Pier, Magnificent Mile, Water Tower and eating joints too. The places we couldn't walk to, 2nd City and Union Station, were a short and cheap cab ride away.

Needed sleeping space for five, this room was an excellent choice with the separate room with the sleeper sofa and tv.

Chicago vacation with kids

Posted Apr 20, 2017
The suite offered the parents privacy...however our room clock was unplugged and we couldnt figure out how to set it. We had no room service menu and had to call for one. The pool was way too small for the 40+ kids that were in it. Having to park 2 blocks away for a discounted rate was nuts. The evening reception and free breakfast was great though.

We thank you for your feedback and apologize about the inconvenience for the alarm clock and room service menu not provided. Thank you for informing our staff so that the issue could be corrected. We are glad you enjoyed the evening reception, breakfast, and the privacy of the two-room suite.

The hotel staff was friendly. The room air quality wasn't very good. The pool facility wasn't very nice. The food quality was poor. Overall it's in a nice location. I remember this hotel brand is being much nicer unfortunately it seems as the quality control has gone down.

Love this hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2017
We have stayed at this particular hotel several times now and we are never disappointed. The only thing we would say is we wish they had a hot tub or a bigger pool. There were so many kids splashing around and no where for the adults to really go. Otherwise it was another great experience

Was just OK...

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Pros: Rooms are nice.
Cons: Happy hour service needs more people as getting drinks is SLOW. Breakfast service too...2 chefs for the size of this hotel is too small...
Location: Movie theater right next door, Navy Pier down the street....good location
Hotel was loud with lots of kids running around and yelling in the atrium...hotel staff should have addressed this faster (their parents really should, but you know so people are oblivious...). Elevevator situation is horrible. It takes forever to get one to go up to the rooms. It takes 3 seperate elevators to go from the parking garage in the basement to the rooms...1 from garage to this middle area (street level), 1 more to the lobby up a few floors...walk across the hotel and get the main elevators to the rooms. Pain in the butt!!!!!!

Hello and thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We understand that there are many options when selecting a hotel in downtown Chicago and we are very appreciative that you chose to stay with us. We are sorry to hear the breakfast and evening reception experience was less than desirable and the elevators were not as quick as anticipated. It is our goal to ensure that all of our guests have a memorable experience. Should your travels bring you back to Chicago please allow us another chance to provide the experience you have come to expect from the Embassy Suites Downtown Magnificent Mile.

Great family hotel near many downtown attractions.

Posted Apr 2, 2017
Hotel provided lots of breakfast choices; afternoon snacks and drinks and sometimes even popcorn in the evening They had everything labeled Gluten Free, which was helpful since we have Celiacs in our family. Rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel will text you during your stay to make sure you are happy, as well. Only issue is that parents need to make sure their teens stay quiet while others are sleeping!

Hello Suzy! We're happy to hear that you got to experience our special popcorn days here at the hotel. We recently started doing this treat and the guests love it along with the text message program as an open window of communication if you need anything during your stay. We appreciate the feedback on these two new additions to our hotel.
