Not Pleasurable Experience

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: Expedia
Cons: Have amenities that are functioning (or don't advertise those amenities).
Location: Anything in downtown Chicago would be very nearby.
We reserved this hotel because of the pool and proximity to the Field Museum. Not only was the hotel disappointing (outdated, we were given handicapped accessible rooms [booked 2 rooms] which made the bathroom shower a disgusting experience) but we were told upon check in that the pool was out of commission and would remain that way until after our stay ended. The beds were incredibly small and the view was atrocious. This was a run-down, low-rent hotel without parking. To get parking, I had to pay another $59/night. Unbelievable!

I was really pleased with the setup of the rooms. Having a separate master and being able to put the kids on the pullout was great. The kids were really excited for the indoor pool so the one negative was it was that it was unfortunately not open when we got there and we didn't know. I feel they definitely tried to make it right however they gave the kids a great goodie basket to play with to keep them entertained. Staff was friendly, room was clean, great location, free breakfast was good. Would definitely recommend.

So much hotel for the price!

Beautiful room, great service, top-notch breakfast buffet, and great location. No complaints; can't imagine why I would stay anywhere else.

In town for personal business

Posted Feb 3, 2017
This hotel is not entirely bad. The continental breakfast is great and the staff is more than willing to help. But! the doors and walls are extremely thin and the sirens from the adjacent fire station will wake you because you can hear EVERYONE and every fire truck coming and going at all hours of the night. We stayed 2 nights and all this noise threw my sleep off for two days after I got home! As a moderate sleeper, I woke up at least 4 times each night. I would say find another place for peaceful sleep.

We are sorry to hear that the outside noise kept you up. If that is a problem for you, then please let us know and we can put you in a room where outside noise is heavily suppressed.

Easy Access To Chicago Sights

Posted Jan 29, 2017
Pros: The location of the hotel was great! The staff was very helpful, the breakfast was fresh, and the valet parking was very convenient!
Cons: The price to park overnight is very expensive. It would be nice if there were a free place to park further out with shuttles available to the hotel.
The Hampton Inn and Suites was right in the middle of everything! We were able to go see The Bean, Navy Pier, Skydeck, and The Magnificent Mile just by walking from the hotel. The hotel is located right near a fire station, but we only noticed when we were eating breakfast on the second floor of the hotel. There was a mancover that would clang and bang every time someone drove over it right below our room, but after 10pm it really died down.

Nice Hotel in the Close to the Chicago River

Posted Jan 27, 2017
Pros: It is very close to everything I like in downtown Chicago.
Cons: Cleaning the toilets.
Location: Check above.
This is a very nice hotel. Fairly inexpensive for Chicago. It is close to lots of Loop venues. About four blocks from the Theater District. Three blocks from the Hard Rock Cafe. Even closer to many Irish pubs and Harry Carey's. They have a decent breakfast buffet. We found a dump in the toilet when we came in and the hotel gave us a $20 gift certificate for a nearby brew house. They had tickets for a concert for the House of Blues, but we already had tickets.

Hampton Inn and sunited downtown chicago. 33 west

The hotel staff was great. But because this hotel offers free breakfast there was a lot of guests with children. They were loud aND we could hear them running through the halls and screaming. None of the hotel staff stopped this.

Bad experience

Posted Dec 8, 2016
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience with our stay. Our hotel air conditioning was not working, it felt so uncomfortable and hard to sleep with the heat. My wife and I had to open all of our windows to feel some kind of coolness which was still not enough. We finally got some sleep, only to be disturbed by construction workers at 6am doing some loud paint work on our floor. The bathroom shower was a terrible design, it was not the typical tub and had a slant which had water going everywhere and making a big mess. I don't think we will stay here anymore.
