Great location!

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Nice staff, location
Cons: Better mattresses
Location: Park, Lake, Shedd aquarium, lots of dining. We did walk to navy pier, but it was a far walk.
We were able to walk to shopping, dining, the park, aquarium and museum, and navy pier. The only negative comment I have about our room is that the standard beds were pretty firm and the thermostat did not work initially in our room so it was a little warm. Maintenance man came promptly and fixed it, but 24 hours later it didn't work again.

Excellent hotel in a great location

Posted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Staff not that friendly
Location: Great location on a Main Street. Walked every where. In the heart of Grant Park and so close to Millenium Park and Museum Park.
Loved the stay at the Hilton. Chicago is a beautiful city and the hotel made the trip everything we hoped it would be!

Beautiful lobby

Posted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: The beautiful lobby and the price
Cons: A little more attention could be made when cleaning the room
Location: Close to our favorite breakfast restaurant. Also close to the walkway to the Field Museum, Shedd's Aquarium, and the water taxis to Navy Pier.
Close to lots of things. The staff in the lobby and the taxi valets were very polite and friendly. Although every time we called the hotel before our visit and @ check in we were asked about joining the honors program which was annoying but understandable, and @ check in asked if we want to upgrade our room. We did not choose that option and our room was ok for the price but shouldn't have to upgrade to get a clean room. The floor was poorly vacuumed, carpet was stained, found 3 tiny white pills on the bathroom floor (a good thing we did not have small children or could have been tragic if they had found them) I wrapped them in tissue and took to the lobby desk. He just said wow thank you. Free WiFi only in lobby. The toiletries in the bathroom were not refilled/replaced. The hotel lobby was beautiful! May consider staying there again but not sure @ this time

Chicago

Posted Aug 28, 2015
Pros: The lobby is beautiful. Friendly staff--warm yet professional and very helpful.
Cons: Check-out time is 11am but our train left later in the day. I was surprised to find that we had to pay $2 per bag to store them until out departure.
Location: We even had to pay $2 each for the children's backpacks.
This hotel is in an excellent location. We could walk to Grant park, the museums and the aquarium. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Renovated versus not renovated room?

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Expedia should make it clear to possible clients whether the rooms being offered on their website are newly renovated or the 'older' not renovated rooms. Especially since the picture featuring the room shows the renovated room! Customers have a right to know before arriving at the hotel - where they will be offered a renovated room at an additional cost.

Nice Hotel downtown

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Charming old style building
Cons: Not all hotel rooms have been renovated yet
Location: near the field museum and aquarium. A lot of restaurants and bars close by. Also bus stops and trains stops in walking distance
Charming Hotel, downtown. close to the field museum. to get to the mangnificent mile or the navy pier have to use bus service or taxi.
