Newly renovated...downtown Evanston
Posted Aug 31, 2016
The price was very good for staying in downtown Evanston. Visiting family, able to walk to their apt. Last time we stayed in one of the suburbs, paid more & had to drive back & forth. The hotel has been newly renovated; entire building now smoke free. We has an enormous room overlooking downtown. Best of all, unlike most places the wall of windows did not have black out curtains (that we hate) but curtains that filtered the light, but still allowed one to be able to see if it was light or still dark out. Lots of outlets to charge electronics. The pool looked nice, no time to use, but did see others using, not crowded. I was charged for two food items, that we had not purchased....could have not been nicer removing charges when we checked out. I have told family how nice the Holiday Inn was and they plan to recommend to other visitors from out of town.
The only extra expense is charge for valet parking. There is however a large underground public parking lot several blocks away, did not use as husband having back problems.
