Convenient, quiet, comfortable.

Posted Dec 31, 2015
Pros: The convenient location, the price, the quiet.
Cons: A bathmat in the bathroom would have been nice.
We wanted a place close to our friends and at a good price. This B&B was just right. The room was fine, though the shower was weak and the bathroom floor a bit on the shabby side. The breakfast kitchen had what we needed (cereal, fruit, pastries, juice, coffee etc). The living room was a nice touch. The only real complaint we had was that the bedroom was a bit too cold the first two nights, but somehow it was warmer the third night. We would stay here again.

Really odd.

Posted Dec 22, 2015
There was no one there to check in, no one there to check out. Not convinced I was the only one using my "private bath" because every time I went to use it, it was already open. When I called to get help figuring out their strange lighting setup, they were fairly condescending. The only person I ever saw was the cleaning lady.

H Cj, Sorry to hear about your experience. We are here everyday. We are required by Bed and Breakfast licensing laws to live in the building. We, the owners live on the first floor. I ask that if guest have issues to either call, text, email or knock on our door. We like leaving guest have some sort of freedom and quiet time when they stay with us so we usually like to leave them to themselves and if they have any issues to let us know. Thank you

Comfortable/quiet hotel.

Posted Nov 1, 2015
Pros: Comfortable bed; nice living, kitchen and outdoor areas.
Cons: The addition of some gluten free options with the breakfast items. ***There needs to be an N/A option, we did not see any staff, which was fine.
Location: The hotel is within walking distance of public transportation, close to a Whole Foods Store and good restaurants, such as The Ethiopian Diamond.
The hotel was quiet. We did not see anyone on Saturday night and a couple of people in the am on Sunday. The convenience of the code system made it easy to come and go. Having the private bathroom in the hall worked out just fine. IF you have mobility issues, it would not be a good place to stay simply because there are stairs to navigate. Loved the deck and outside patio area; wish we did not have to cut our stay a day shorter as we would have enjoyed spending more time outdoors.

Hi Liza/ Mike, Thank you for the comment. We love to hear guest on breakfast options. I am brand spanking new to gluten foods. Would be great if you can recommend some to have around for guest. Thanks

Awesome

My daughter and I stayed at the B&B during a quick trip to Chicago to check out some colleges for her. We absolutely loved our stay. If we could have changed anything, it would have only been to stay longer. If she moves to the city, I can truly see myself and friends becoming regular guests!

Amazing!

This was our first stay at B&B and we completely enjoyed the experience. What an amazing way to stay in a big city without the huddle and bustle. The b&b is conveniently located by the CTA red line with an easy access to all major Chicago attractions. We came to see a band show at Lincoln Hall and were able to get around very easily. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Will be back ourselves for sure! Plenty of street parking! Amazing breakfast, snacks and beverages included! Wonderful and safe neighborhood. Thank you!

A gem with a mild case of the hiccups

Posted Sep 23, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed for a couple of days while exploring the Andersonville area. Pros: Good location, comfortable and clean room, reasonably priced, great overall ambiance. Cons: You can hear every noise inside and outside; shower water pressure was horribly low; owners are very hands-off, leaving you pretty much on your own from check in to check out, which is great except when you actually need assistance. Neutrals: This is a b&b where a continental spread and snacks are on hand around the clock, and you can make eggs (provided) or prepare other non-provided foods if you'd like. There are plenty of snacks available, including fresh fruit (which is a big plus); however, if you're a healthy eater who prefers non-processed foods, you'll want to stock up elsewhere up before arriving.

It's amazing that guest don't realize that we live on the first floor of the establishment. We asked that if guest have dietary issues to let us know in advance.

Inexpensive, and close to Wrigley field

Posted Aug 22, 2015
Pros: Ease of paying up front, then just having a code for access. The great kitchen stocked with snacks, drinks and food.
Cons: Cleaner bathroom and sheets. I had a hard time falling asleep on a stained pillow. Not sure if it was really clean or not. Yuck
Location: The location seemed to be in a nice neighborhood, and was close to Wrigley field, which was the reason for our visit
The room was a comfortable size. The sheets and bathroom didn't appear to be as clean as they could have been. That was kind of a disappointment. The kitchen was very close to our room, and was completely stocked. We loved all the food and snacks that were available. The idea of not having to check in or out, was nice. We just walked in and out when we were done with our stay. We did have a problem parking on the street. When we came back at night, after the baseball game, there wasn't a parking space for blocks. We finally parked in a spot that we shouldn't have, but basically had no choice. I would recommend reserving a garage. I thought about it, but figured it would be o.k. if we had to walk a little bit, but it was awful. Every street was lined with cars on both sides.
