Large room, great location

After reading other reviews, I was very impressed. The room was super clean and very spacious with nice views of the city. The staff was very friendly. The rooftop terrace was a nice addition as well. Within walking distance of just about everything.

Disappointed

Disappointed that our room looked nothing like the classy pictures portrayed online! Not only was the room so outdated and small, but it also did not have washcloths and soap. There was also a cigarette lighter that had been left on the floor of the room from whoever was there before, which makes you feel that the room was not cleaned properly. The positives are the location, rooftop terrace, and front desk staff. I definitely would not choose to stay there again unless changes were made. I will attach pics of the rundown room...

Won't be back.

I don't usually write bad reviews of places and don't mind red roof inn quality rooms. With that said, I will not stay here again. I'm an Expedia gold member and there were no perks or upgrades here despite them being a VIP+ hotel. The 5th floor where we stayed reeked of cigarette smoke even though the hotel is a non smoking hotel. My friend and I went out after unpacking and came back in at 1 am to find out bathroom had a lake of yellow liquid all over the floor we initially thought someone had been in our room and it was urine, but turned out to be dripping from the ceiling and running down the walls. We had to pack up all of our stuff and switch rooms. The new room was on the other side of the hallway and the entire view out the windows was nothing more than a roof and fire escape we couldn't have used in an emergency do to the thick layers of paint keeping the windows closed. There were pubic hairs on the toilet and the walls are so thin the people in the next room over could be heard puking from the bed. The Internet is only free in the lobby for 30 minutes at a time and it is currently 4.95 for the slowest speed each day for access in the room. There were good things - the staff was friendly and courteous, the location was great, the lobby was gorgeous, and the beds were so comfortable my friend and I wanted to take the mattresses home with us.

In the middle of everything

Hotel is located basically in the middle of everything we like to do in Chicago. This is our second stay here, and we are overall very happy with this hotel. Although there's nothing special about it, it's just in a great location, clean, good staff, and just a good overall spot for a traveler.

Cheaper option in downtown

Expensive parking. But that's what you expect in downtown. No free internet in room.

Decent hotel

The location and overall cleanliness make it decent for the money. The furniture is too old and the bathroom way too small

A bedbug in my bed

Pros: Good location, near Muchigan Ave.
Cons: Never again.
Location: Great location, 1 block from Michigan Ave. with many stores and restaurants, public transportation nearby.
Great location. But I found a bedbug in my bed in room 902, so they change the room for 1412. The hotel is very old. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

Aging hotel but great staff & location.

Small rooms with old cheap furnishings but it does the job. Staff is wonderful and location is great. You can walk everywhere.

Incredibly situated in Chicago's cbd. Terrific concierge staff who really helped me out a lot. Comfy beds. Small bathroom and wifi only in lobby. Other than that, a great stay.
