Great first impression!

Posted Nov 14, 2016
Pros: We had a great room for our first time staying downtown in Chicago. Very convenient to shopping and site seeing.
Cons: The bar was cold where we sat because people kept going out on the porch and opening the door.
Location: Lots of good shopping.

Great location. Superb facility.

Pros: Excellent experience. Had trouble getting a cab to airport during protest after presidential election. The gentleman working during this time went above and beyond to walk us and assist with our luggage to find a cab as the street to hotel was barricaded. Wish I would have gotten his name
Cons: The beautiful rooftop bar had poor service on two of the 3 occasions we ventured in.

Great Location, Awesome Reno!

Posted Sep 11, 2016
Stayed here while in town for an event at The Mart (it's conveniently close). Great location for anything downtown. The lobby and rooftop are definitely the highlights of the hotel. Trendy and newly renovated, The Renaissance is a comfortable place to stay while in Chicago. Parking is easily accessible, friendly valet. Random note: there are little drawers labeled "Odds & Ends" near the front desk. I broke a nail, and figured how convenient that they had a drawer for "Nail Care." I grabbed the nail files, and I was taken aback when I was interagated by the gentleman at the front desk, as I began to walk away. I understand people may just take things, but isn't that the point? I felt like I had done something terrible!

Delighted to hear you enjoyed the new look of our hotel! We do apologize for the confusion regarding our Odds & Ends store. These items are for purchase at our reception desk. We do have some basic complimentary items that can be requested through our "Delighted to Serve" department or by asking any member of our team!

I was here for a conference and it was a great place. Food was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Room was big with a great big window overlooking the Chicago Theater.

Great Choice in Chicago

Posted Sep 6, 2016 on Hotels
I was very pleased with The Renaissance and would definitely stay there again. The decor of the lobby has a young, trendy vibe. The room was very clean and comfortable, really no critiques at all. All of the staff that I encountered were friendly and made me feel welcome. I think the location is pretty good, because you're just a 5 minute-walk to the heart of River North where you can find tons of restaurants and nightlife, but you're also not far from most major tourist attractions (museums, Millennium Park, etc). Keep in mind that most of the loop is dead on weekends as it's a business district but like I said, you're just across the river from the main dining scene, so it's well situated.

Setting the standard for 4 star hotels in Chicago

Posted Sep 6, 2016 on Hotels
First off this place was the definition of a 4 star hotel. Valet parking was well staffed and extremely helpful at all hours from getting us a taxi to helping us load our bags in the back. the staff inside was also extremely effective and friendly, no wait to check in even though there were 4 people at the desk in front of us. the lobby isn't even a lobby, its a bar, lounge, coffee shop fully staffed, extremely clean and everyone was extremely nice. let's talk room. for Chicago its a decent sized room, four of us had plenty of room. décor is all recently remodeled, the room was spectacular. beds comfortable, sheets soft and clean even through a black light inspection. bathroom felt bigger than some hotels I have stayed in, no water pressure or temp issues. the hotel also has an awesome 3 floor bar, the few is spectacular. overall this hotel is a clear 5 our of 5 and I will stay here again. I only dropped down the hotel service one bar cause the wifi was a little iffy while we were there. I ended up just logging off it cause it would have periodic lags that were slightly frustrating. certainly not the hotels fault probably just the providers or there were a lot on the signal at once. Overall this is the place you want to stay. for the price you cant beat the quality of room you are getting.

Great location.

Great location and vibe. The only negative was the handicap accessible room was lacking. The room had little room move around in wheelchair. And, it didn't have a roll in shower which made it very difficult to get in the tub.
