Spring Break in Chicago

The staff at this hotel was amazing. The breakfast was great. The room was alittle small for a suite but very clean. My only concerns were that the pool needs updating and there was no hot tub. Also the design of the room is a little odd. I think a second tv in the room would have been better then were they placed the one trying to allow the whole room to view it. It is about an hour drive to downtown but the location was very nice and easy to get to. There are also a couple of great restaurants nearby.

Good, But a Few Issues

When we checked-in we were given a room on the 5th floor at the end of the hallway. We noticed a very loud squealing sound coming from the hallway air conditioner right outside of our room door. The noise was much too loud and obnoxious, so we requested a different room. I was wondering how any of the staff could walk by that A/C unit and not take immediate action to repair it. They moved us to the 3rd floor, which was fine. My only complaint about this room was that there was no way to use the A/C and keep the fan on at all times, so the unit would loudly kick on and off frequently. I assume this was the same in all rooms. Unfortunately, the next day our room was not serviced. I assumed this was because we had moved rooms and perhaps the maid service did not have our new room listed as requiring service. No big deal. On Sunday evening, I noticed a sign at the registration desk that indicated breakfast was served the next day until 9:30AM. Monday morning a hurried down to the breakfast area at 9:00AM to make sure I had time to eat. When I got there, the breakfast items were already cleared. I asked the front desk about this and they said breakfast is only served until 9:00AM on weekdays. I pointed to the sign that was still on the counter that indicated breakfast was served until 9:30AM. She was surprised and apologized. She could have offered to bring something out, but she didn't.

Our breakfast does end at 9:30am Mon - Fri. I am not aware of it ever ending early but regardless I am very sorry that the offer was not made.
