Nice boutique hotel in a good Chicago location.

Good location. Gracious staff. Rooms are very small - no room for a chair and ottoman. No room to put personal toiletries in the bathroom. They charge an extra fee for some amenities, including a Keurig coffeemaker - however, there was only a single regular coffee pod in our room. They brought more right up but I shouldn't have had to ask! Very clean, comfy bed, good towels - just small!

The hotel was modern yet took us back to the period when it was built. Nothing is better than a well thought and comfortable room.

Enjoyed this hotel very much. Friendly, courteous staff. Room was ready well before posted check-in time. Room was lovely and stocked with amenities. I liked the architectural details of the old building. Great location, too. The availability of two bikes on a first-come, first-served basis was cool.

Pros: I loved the double comforters on the bed! Super comfy!
Cons: The lighting in the room, doorman attendance, cupcake reception was very much lacking.
Location: Nice and close to the theatre district and nearby shopping. Also nice location in regards to the Milennium train station.
I did not think the amenities in this hotel were worth the price. There was rarely a doorman at the door, the lighting in the room was very poor (a floor lamp in the corner did not quite cut it) and the touted cupcake reception made us laugh out loud. They were the tiniest itty bitty cupcakes I have ever seen! Good parts: close to the theater district, clean, staff was friendly. We loved the refillable toiletries in the bathroom and shower.

Dear Anne Marie, Thank you for staying at The Alise Chicago. We truly understand your perspective on lighting and and cupcake reception. These things could have be resolved if we would have been made aware. We are meeting with our valet team to disgust presents at the main entrance. We give you our deepest apologies for your inconvenience. Sincerely, Tonya
