Cozy & Luxurious

Posted Feb 1, 2016
Absolutely loved staying at the Drake Hotel. So lucky to book this room on Expedia during the Black Friday sale, otherwise there is no way we could have managed to stay in a room this nice. The Drake lived up to its reputation of elegance. The building is gorgeous, with ornate, gold accents and its history and star-studded guest list is impressive, to say the least. The hotel bar is overpriced and a little bit lacking in atmosphere; it looks like it has seen better days, but there are so many restaurants in the vicinity, that this is hardly a real issue. We did not interact much with the staff, but any interactions were friendly, fast, and courteous. They seem like they are always ready and willing to assist. Our overall experience was lovely and I highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel furniture looks old, cable tv not working for 24 hours, no mini bar.

Elegance

Posted Jan 19, 2016
Pros: They offer eco-friendly room service policies.
Cons: At check-in we were given the code for free Wi-Fi access, a perk we were not expecting. However, most of the time it didn't work.
Location: Located at the top of the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, there are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby, along with Lake Michigan two blocks away.
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Drake. The sense of rich history is pervasive throughout the building, including room furnishings and fixtures. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Great position hotel and on the whole Ok

Posted Jan 11, 2016
Pros: location, excellent gym and on the whole friendly staff
Cons: Breakfast on the last day, appalling. Not a nice bar in the hotel just for guests
Location: On the magnificent Mile, within walking distance of everything Chicago had to offer
The hotel was in an ideal position to enjoy the sites of Chicago and on the whole it was satisfactory. The room was reasonably clean and the breakfast was acceptable until the last day when it all went haywire and we were left with a poor breakfast in an understaffed, dirty, cramped and altogether unsuitable room.

European Experience

Posted Jan 3, 2016
Like many of the grand, old, western European hotels. Broad hallways, high ceilings, classic decor, multiple in hotel high end shops and various restaurants. Not to mention the Historic element. Reasonable rates can be found and not at the expense of sub-par accomodations.

Needs refurbishment

Posted Jan 3, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: See above
Location: Bottom of the Golden Mile and ideal location for seeing all that central Chicago has to offer
I used this Hotel for business and private purposes 20 plus years ago - would not now. Now owned by the Hilton Group and is badly out of date. We switched rooms to begin with. Original room small with hardly any wardrobe space (for 7 days!) and not very clean. First substitute room we could not access as key lock needed recharging. 3rd room OK but again needed upgrading. Breakfast buffet old fashioned and they could really do with a commercial toaster. Generally very tired. Staff generally very good.

空港から30分ぐらいの立地。 ふるくなっていますが、歴史があるようです。 地域がら寒いので注意が必要です。

Pretty good not great

Posted Jan 2, 2016
It was a nice but outdated hotel. The rooms features weren't fancy per se and the hotel staff make you seem like you're bothering them when you ask for anything. I stayed in the junior suite and it wasn't over the top nice or luxurious by any means but it was open and roomy. The view was terrible too.
