Need and upgrade.Posted Aug 17, 2015
This is and old hotel that need so remolding. No base boards on the wall, the bed covers had holes and stains " good thing I brought my own". The hallway and room carpet is nasty looking, I would not walk on it without shoes. The only good thing I can say is the staff was friendly.

Room was acceptable, but nothing excitingPosted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: Room was acceptable
Cons: Have more staff available to service customers, didn't get the free breakfast, lower prices
Location: Nothing near by, had to drive 30 minutes to get to our destination
It appeared that there was only 1 staff member to service the entire hotel.

Very low price, hotel in great need of repairPosted Aug 10, 2015
Pros: cheap price, great location for us, room was wonderful, wifi worked great, refrig, microwave and air conditioner
Cons: Front lobby totally, it was messy, stuff laying around, handwritten notes on the counter to people, front counter a mess, the wall behind counter
Location: we stayed cuz of hospital nearby, but beach very close, naval academy, Jelly Belly factory
We booked at Travelodge Waukegon because of the low price. We didnt expect luxury. We wanted a clean comfortable room with air conditioner that worked, free wifi, a refrig, a microwave, good water pressure in shower, etc. We got all that but the hotel is in great need of upkeep. It was a Days Inn and now a Travelodge for over 3 monthes-but alot of stuff still wasnt changed. Outside light had bulbs exposed from taking down the Days Inn sign, the lobby had the front table overflowing with mazazines, overflowing in a mess! The one and only ice machine did not work, the juice machine did not work, breakfast was one type of cereal, warm orange juice, bagels and donuts. The milk for the cereal was constantly out and the coffee was out. Why? no staff taking care of bfast. The front desk person had to come and take care of the bfast stuff, and then run back to help people at the desk and answer phones.

RUN!!! Dont stay herePosted Jul 26, 2015
We're not picky, but the air didn't work In the room and when I asked I was givin a fan. None of the outlets worked so the fan was useless. The towels were so thin I wouldn't even wash my hair. I'm a non smoker, my sisters a smoker. They put me in a smoking room and her in a non smoking room. The carpet was dirty, don't take your shoes off. The t.v. Remote didn't work so I turned the t.v. On by hand, but that didn't matter. You don't get any channels. At least nothing in English. We got there at 7:00pm and left at 6:00am and my husband slept in the truck for fear of bed bugs. For a Wyndham property, they should be ashamed to have their good name associated with this property.

Wish we wouldn't have stayed therePosted Jul 21, 2015
This hotel needs serious remodeling. The carpet is worn, upholstery needs cleaning. The rooms were in OK condition but we had a hard time with our bathroom door closing. The continental breakfast had the bread served in a bag and the whole breakfast was unappetizing. The persons at the desk were not very friendly. Disappointed this is a Wyndham property.

Very Bad Hotel ExperiencePosted Jul 3, 2015
Location: Very poor location
This is a hotel for any traveler to avoid. The lobby wreaked of smoke. The entire hotel was poorly maintained as well as the rooms. The hotel could be considered unsafe to stay in. Do not pay in advance. Do not book a room at this place ever. Avoid at all cost!!!

Dirty!Posted Jul 2, 2015
Disgusting and beyond filthy. The entire hotel smelled like an ashtray, and my room was twice as bad. Cigarette ashes not cleaned off table. Bathroom lights were out of order. And did I mention smell.

Needs a Lot of ImprovementPosted Jul 1, 2015 on Hotels
The hotel would have a lot potential if the owner would take some time, and put some money into it. Everything is ancient in the room, and the towels were dirty.

My Hotel experience at the Travelodge WaukeganPosted Jun 30, 2015
Cons: The people you use to clean your rooms
I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I would not put my dog here overnight, facility is not up to kennel standards. Stay clear of this hotel.

Awful hotel, don't stay, I beg of you keep out!!!!Posted Jun 30, 2015
Pros: I liked that the hotel was open and had a room and bed i could use. Then i went in and was disappointed i had picked it at all.
Cons: There is not much that could help this hotel, but as a run down version of the budget chain that it is isn't a big step down. New owners could help..
Location: The hotel was 26 minutes, or 16 miles away from Six Flags Great America. It was 15 feet from Wesley Church, 2.6 miles from Captain Porkies restaurant!
I booked this hotel as a last minute stay and i knew it would be a dump, but the bars of soap were super thin, there was no waste baskets in the room at all. The AC was a plug in the wall unit that was off when i walked in. The switches didnt all work. The walls and ceilings had black gunk and yellow glue stuck to them all over. When i walked in the Jacuzzi that was the "big selling point to the hotel" had an inch of cold standing water in it. There was only shampoo and one bar of soap for shower and sink, on a bathroom amenities bar for the wyndam Gardens hotel. Their free Wifi "the other big selling point" was listed as Days inn on my computer when i logged on. There is Nothing redeeming in this hotel. The moment i walked into my room, I smelled mold and the bedding didnt even fit the beds. I admit their furniture was all topped in Granite but the surfaces all had white glue glopps that made it rough to the touch. The window in my room was right in line so all the people in the parking lot could watch me bathe if they wanted This hotel is not worth what i was made to pay..... Poor Room Poor Experience.
