Good for a clean place to stay.

Stayed at this hotel while visiting family. First time in this hotel. Staff was friendly and hotel was clean. We got the King “suite”, which was really just a larger room with a good size jacuzzi in the middle of the room (interesting). Room was not well lit and had one window, so it was pretty dim. Otherwise fine. The immenities were light. Only had USA Today for papers and only a few. Closest place to get another was the Denny’s down the road. Good for a quick stay.

couldn't get service

Pros: good location central in Chico. decent breakfast buffet (waffles!)
Cons: service rooms promptly. get the garbage out, get the TP restocked, do not make your guests whine and play the rude customer to get service!
Every day I had garbage piling up, and no toilet paper or kleenex. I had toddlers with me, so dirty diaper bags filling the room... I had to place multiple calls to get service to the room. I stayed 6 nights and not a single day did my room get service without my having to call and pitch a fit. They kept asking if I was staying the night. What is that about? First of all, it's YOUR hotel, you can't tell how long I am staying? Why do I have to tell you this? And what does it matter? The garbage needs to be promptly cleared from the room every day, and toilet paper and kleenex need to be replaced daily. To say nothing of bath towels. This is back to basics stuff -- you can't run a hotel if you can't take out garbage and keep TP stocked.

One night stop over

Pros: Food at night was good. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Needs updating and have a cheery staff.

The hotel was older and rooms and bathroom need updating. Bed was fine, newer mattress and bedding. Windows and baseboard not clean. Bartender was very accommodating with food that was tasty. They said they had a restaurant but there was no one in there, so we ate in bar. The front office clerk did give us buy be get one for our drink. The breakfast bar was not apppealing. I waited till we drove through McDonalds to get breakfast. We had been staying at Best Westerns the whole month and all had breakfasts that were appealing.

It was ok for a one night stay. Room needs updating, especially bathtub and tiles. Breakfast buffet was not as good as Best Westerns. Bar menu a night was good. Bed was good. Room smelled ok.

Overpriced and Noisy

By no fault of the hotel, we arrived with no reservation. I had confirmation #. Boo Expedia!!! Way overpriced for the condition of the hotel. Serious need of new beds. I felt like I was sleeping on a bed of nails. Also, Why on earth would you have a live band playing on Saturday night or any other night? We were in room 305, could still hear it. Had to call twice for extra bedding to be delivered. TV reception was grainy as if the satellite was being disrupted. Why wouldn't they notice that? We stayed two days.

Easy to find, pleasant staff

My first trip to Chico. The hotel was easy to find, nice clean area next to Dennys. Staff were very friendly. Room was clean, you can tell they try to keep it nice even though it's a little run down. The refrigerator didn't work and the nearest ice machine was at the other end of the building down the hall. My only real disappointment was when I looked at the ceiling. The entire thing had water stains where it had leaked. I smoke so asked for a corner room so I could make a quick exit but found I was locked out so had to walk around the hotel in my ugly Jammie's to get back in. After that I walked down the hall to another exit that worked. Nice little bar with a band on Saturday night. Not a bad place over all.

Good news and bad

Upon our arrival we asked to be checked in early (about 1:00 p.m.) We originally were placed in the room next to the band. The clerk graciously moved us to the second floor. Unfortunately we were directly above the BAND. The band started at 8:30 p.m. and we were moved to another room at 9 p.m. The band did not quit until 12. We were grateful that we were allowed to move. Our room was clean but the bathroom door REALLY squeaked every time it was opened or shut. The management should provide WD-40 to the cleaning staff to eliminate this problem. We were not entitled to any compensation because we booked through Expedia. Also we were given two breakfast vouchers to a room with three adults.

disappointing visit

Pros: I really appreciated the free breakfast buffet.
Cons: The cleanliness of the rooms!
Location: Chico is a nice town with a college area with many small stores and restaurants.
My daughter, grandson and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. They NEVER cleaned our room. The first morning after our first night they only made one bed and gave us 1 wash cloth to use between the 3 of us. My daughter called many times and finally just went to the outdoor pool and took a few towels for us to use. She emptied the garbage all 3 nights because my grandson is still in diapers and we needed to have the cans emptied. They never vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom or replenished the coffee supplies. The last straw was when the toilet was clogged and she called AGAIN, she waited a good part of the day and then had to take my grandson to the public toilet with her because I was not there. I did register a complaint at the front desk and they took off $26.00 from our over $400.00 dollar bill for the 3 nights. I guess that was our pay for cleaning our own room! I also called Ramada after I got home and they reimbursed us for one night. I was happy with that, but I would still not recommend this hotel. I don't mind paying a fair price for a hotel, but when you are in a strange city with family, it would be nice to come back to a clean room. All this made our trip to seeing a sick aunt a little harder to deal with.
