I was nervous because of the other reviews related to cleanliness. I had an amazing stay. The pool was clean, my room on the second floor was clean with amazing amenities (washer/dryer), fridge, microwave, fabulous breakfast, and dog friendly. This hotel had had some renovations recently which were for the better and didn’t impact my stay in anyway. The only tip for travelers would be if you have a pet check the fur and coat for fox tails. They did have grass areas but they were impacted by these horrible twisted and dangerous burrs. Definitely do not let your dog go in the field next to the parking lot because it is full of them. The stay other than this minor annoyance is as fabulous.

One bed was used but not changed, We were given sheets to change it, no help , TV was not working, bathroom dirty and decrepit. Worst hotel we stayed at in a very long time.

Only one problem we had during our stay. At 12:30 am a drunk man awoke guests at the first floor. He was yelling, slapping the door, and arguing loudly with a woman in his room. The front desk lady came to calm him down, but he didn’t change his attitude, was very angry and continued to make noises during the hour. Therefore, we didn’t sleep and didn’t have the rest after the long drive as we expected to have.

Overall the property has its share of flaws but it was clean and in a safe area , good breakfast with hot items and plenty of it .. Beds were super comfy on the king size I slept including the pillows … Hot water was plentiful… I would stay here again for sure and I’m about as picky as it gets ..

Good Place in Childress
Room was comfortable, but needs updating. Bathroom tub stained and had spots that I wiped off. Tub didn't drain well, but was fixed quickly. Toilet tank would run intermittently. Desk clerk, Sam was great! Finding way to the hotel from the highway is not clear.

Room needs repair. Heater had broken parts and was loud. Walks needed repair as room had holes by window/ac. Bathroom was not clean… stains at base of toilet. One bad box spring was stained and had no skirt. Did not feel like a $100 hotel, more like a motel 6. Would not return

The door was open when walked in, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. There was a wet towel in a dirty bathtub and used toilet paper and a dirty toilet. Also there was damage to the wall in the bathroom and Sheetrock and broken tile everywhere.

Comfortable stay
Room was comfortable. Towels were dirty and bathroom wasn’t great. The front desk did provide clean towels. I didn’t complain about the towles as it wouldn’t make a difference. The customer service was exceptional. Bed was nice and I slept well. My only issue was the bathroom as a whole. Breakfast was nice.

When we checked in the front desk did not tell us that the water would be shut off in the motel. I could not get a shower or brush my teeth. When I checked out I complained about this but they did not offer to reimburse any part of the cost of the room. Fire alarm went off several times around 5AM. Three floors but only one slow elevator. Bathroom counter and light were nice but bathtub was old. No light in the kitchen area. Did like the pillow cases identified if pillow was soft or firm. A lot of truck drivers and trade workers stay here so overall the facility could use an update. Breakfast was fair with two types of eggs, two types of sausages, biscuits and gravy. But there was no fruit such as bananas or berries for cereal. Did have warm cinnamon rolls.

Holiday Inn Express Albuquerque NM and ChildressTX
The Holiday Inn Express in Albuquerque NM was clean and very friendly, but the breakfast was hospitalish. Scrambled eggs had no taste, bacon was a little under cooked. Parking was terrible for any RV and trailer. Holiday Inn Express in Childress TX was clean and very friendly. Don't bring an RV/truck and trailer here because there is no parking and no where to turn to get out. I want to give an attaboy to Pablo the maintenace man for his assistance in guiding me while got my large U-Haul truck and car dolly trailer with car attached out of the parking lot. Pablo also checked out my room phone. Some of the amenities did not work in some of the rooms, and the rooms looked like they could use a needed upgrade, but they were clean. The kitchen was a little slow on getting the breakfast out, and again the scrambled eggs had no flavor.

Never checked in due the wrong date was booked by accident and Expedia did not help change or help find another hotel after we had been traveling for 10 hours Will never use holiday inn express again because expedia said they would not refund the money. Will never use Expedia again for the same reason The holiday inn express in Childress was full on the night we thought we booked so we had to go to the next town Quanah and stayed in a safe sure room. Thanks to both Expedia and holiday inn express we stayed in a not so nice place.

Staff was excellent. Right next to a Walmart (convenient), but still extremely quiet. Saw a live armadillo in the field around the hotel! Usually only see them smashed on the roadside. Heard cows and coyotes in the distance while out walking my dog after dark. Very nice.
