Very noisy hotel with tired decor

Posted Feb 3, 2017
Rooms in need of re decoration and the mattress was way past it's best. Stayed on the first floor. A lot of noise from the bar below and the road outside. Restaraunt is nicely decorated and ambient but the food is no better than basic pub grub. All in all a real disappointment.

A lovely quaint old English pub Inn where the staff were very welcoming. Room was warm and cosy , bed was comfortable with crisp cotton sheets. However, as room was situated near the front door, it was a little noisy when people leaving for the night. Bathroom was a cramped but had everything you would need. Lovely restaurant area early morning breakfast (before 7am) was not locatable as advised the night before. Good value for money

Accommodations fit the bill perfectly

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Pros: Old English Inn charm, very accommodating staff and restaurant and bar was appreciated
Cons: Busy location (traffic in the morning) but understandable.
Location: Access to countryside, churches, communities and located out of town
Very good place to stay, with all the conveniences.

A Welcome Break

This was a stop on our walking the Cotswold Way. The hotel was very reasonably priced and very comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent.

A couple of issues, traffic noise due to single glazed windows and a slightly dodgy shower but had a really nice overnight stay and cheapest b&b available. Food in restaurant very good and a good choice at breakfast.

Good location

Posted Feb 7, 2016 on Hotels
Easy to find located just off the M4 and about 20 minutes from Bristol centre. There is a large well lit car park. Efficient and polite receptionist. The building is a large, extensively developed inn with a reasonable number of rooms. My room was compact although quite suitable with a comfortable double bed, TV, desk, plenty of lighting, and clean en-suite shower. The usual tea and coffee facilities, including biscuits. The food served for dinner was a wide choice, very good and superb value for money. Very polite bar man and waitress. It was good to see a diverse range of locals visiting the establishment, which is always a good sign. Breakfast was very good served by a friendly, pleasant and efficient waitress. Very efficient check out process. Overall, this was a pleasant experience and I would have no hesitation in returning.
