So close to Horncastle Arena and restaurants

Posted Sep 14, 2017
Great stay for 2 nights to see show at Horncastle Arena. Lovely friendly staff. Easy walking distance to the arena and to restaurants on Lincoln Road, and a short stroll to Tower Junction shopping centre. Warm rooms with everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again!

Had trouble adjusting gas calafont shower. Too hot the freezing. Would prefer electric hot water shower.

Friendly and convenient

Posted Sep 1, 2017
We stayed two nights, before and after a Transalpine rail trip. This motel is ideally located ot far from Hagley Park, and in a quiet spot just a few minutes drive from the railway station. We couldn't have been made more welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. We'll definitely be back again.

Closest Motel to Train Station

Posted Aug 5, 2017
Pros: Clean, convenient, warm, good management.
Cons: The electric heat coil showers are fiddly to use and DO NOT give reliable hot water flow - no matter what you try. Sore point for me, unfortunately.
Location: Absolutely so close to rail station and a few decent nearby pubs less than 10 minutes walk. Management have good suggestions for these.
Stayed here since it as nearest accommodation to the rail station for the Tranzalpine. Good decision, as the motel also had a free and very friendly minibus service to and from the rail station. Motel is basic, but clean with basic ammenities and very warm. Quiet rooms also. Very obliging management with good suggestions for eating out locally. Easy and secure parking.

Basic adequate accommodation with no frills.

Posted Apr 16, 2017
The bed was a bit hard and the blinds did not block out the streetlight. Perhaps it is time for them to consider a new shower floor. However, when compared, pricewise, with other accommodation in the area, it was a fair stayover. The rooms were basic but clean.

Excellent motel close to railway station

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Pros: Comfortable bed and very quiet
Location: Near to eating places and the station.
Very comfortable motel with friendly and very helpful owner. We were collected from the station after a trip across the alps which was great as the train was late in. Also suggested and booked a shuttle to the airport for us. Great help around.

Great stay!

Posted Apr 10, 2017
We spent 2 nights here, great hotel, super clean. Jessica went above & beyond. Once we realized we weren't able to check in until very late I emailed her to let her know, she told us what room we would be in & left the light on & key in room! She was also very helpful with things to do & places to eat. She shuttled us to the train station which was most helpful. I would definitely stay here again!

Nicest Motel Owner on the Planet

Posted Mar 31, 2017
Pros: The owner, the kitchenette, cleanliness, service, location...etc.
Owner, "Jessica," was the nicest person you would ever want to meet when travelling. In a few short days Jessica became our friend and part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. The train was delayed 40 minutes, it was raining, no worries, Jessica was waiting with a smile, in her van, to pick us up. Laundry - no worries, leave it to Jessica. Milk for coffee? Wouldn't have been surprised if Jessica milked the cow. Great location - five minutes to restaurants and supermarket, about 15 minutes to Hagley Park. Bus stop is 50 meters away. We will stay at the Arena Motel every time we come to Christchurch.

Motel with no restaurant facilities

Posted Mar 30, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Close to rail station
Cons: OK for what it was
Location: Near Rugby stadium
Right opposite rugby match but not too noisy. Arrived late and left early for other travel arrangements.
