Cons: Up date the bathrooms, no heating in them at all, leaky shower door so all bathroom got wet!
Lack of welcome and explanation about hotel facilities, breakfast times the fact there was a bar on-site.

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff.Posted Aug 4, 2015
Pros: Everything really, but mainly the kindness and helpfulness of the staff.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Very close to Hagley Park and central Christchurch.
This is a very nice hotel situated across the road from Hagley Park in Christchurch. The rooms are clean and well looked after and the staff were very kind and helpful when I needed to extend my stay in the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Christchurch.

Location great but room was very tiredPosted Jul 29, 2015
Cons: Mattress quality - checking facilities match booking information -
Location: It is very close to Hagley Park - walking in amongst the beautiful trees, and along the river - great
Arrived in room and found only 2 towels and cups even though the booking was for 3 adults. I had to get the towels and extra cup myself. The bed was disgusting - the window latch fell off when I opened the window - the phone in the room was very old.

Lovely hotel in an excellent positionPosted Jul 26, 2015
We were delighted with the Chateau On The Park. Everything about the hotel is of a high standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful. As we were touring New Zealand in a rental car the presence of a large CCTV monitored car park was a major plus for the hotel. I would be happy to recommend this establishment to anyone.

The hotel was very cold (temperature), and the front desk receptionist was cold and unfriendly - she didn't give us any information and just gestured in the direction we should go!!

Nice Hotel close to Park & Gardens.Posted Jun 20, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: The overall feeling of the Hotel being comfortable, relaxed and friendly.
Cons: The beds were quite firm, although more comfortable than expected. The bedding underlay was just shy of a good fit and this could be improved.
Location: The Hotel is situated adjacent to Hagley Park and the Christchurch Botanic Gardens for walking or biking.
Hotel has an inviting reception area. The rooms were warm and clean. The Restaurant was very good, staff were friendly and helpful. Although the Hotel is situated on a busy road the rooms were quiet.

Quiet hotel within walking distance of amenities.Posted Jun 7, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: Quiet, clean, comfortable.
Cons: Restaurant was a bit cool in the evening but was warmer in the morning. Corridors were very cold.
Location: Hagley Park; great for walking, cycling etc.
Good place to stay, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, quiet, clean, comfortable room with plenty of space. No street lights peeping in around curtains! Free parking available. Dinner could not be described as fantastic but was not bad either. It was tasty and acceptable having arrived late in the evening into Christchurch. Would stay here again.
