Amazing experience, both the hotel and staff

Posted Sep 1, 2017
Pros: Location, great staff, clean rooms, great bar, food available all day and into the evening, proximity to the beach, view.
Cons: We really thought everything was great. We did have a problem with robbery and theft on Point Udall, but that is not the hotel's fault.
Location: Easy to get to Christiansted, convenient to grocery and gas stations, nearby beaches, plus most main roads converge near the hotel.
Our stay at the Palms at Pelican Cove was wonderful. The room's view was the very best, looking out at both sides of the lovely cove/bay, we woke most mornings to watch the sunrise over Buck Island--gorgeous! The room was nice and spacious, too, with great Internet service, a double sink bathroom and a rocky volcanic wall I the shower that was pretty (and a tiled bench that allowed for placement of all our shower toiletries), along with the balcony overlooking Pelican Cove Beach on both sides. We enjoyed drinks at the bar, Caribbean Night entertainment and the best mahi mahi I have had in a long time as one of the dishes on the buffet, couples' massage on the beach, beachcombing, and some very good meals from the hotel kitchen (they have more casual dining options around the pool as well as seated dining at the restaurant both in and outdoors). It was also nice to be able to order our food at the bar, with menus that offered daily specials and snack items, as well as more robust meals. Staff are so attentive, with messages relayed, special things we'd asked about answered, and some smiles and laughs as we watched the eclipse with some of the staff who were working on the property the day it occurred, via our eclipse-safe sunglasses. We felt safe, cared for, and our happiness on the holiday was something the hotel management and staff really wanted to ensure. Get Maurice to drive you, plus ask for a night snorkel from hotel owners-a real highlight for us!

Roaches

Posted Aug 30, 2017
Pros: Million dollar view of ocean.
Cons: The property needs lots of love...new furniture, new front entrance, just a face lift and lots of love.
Location: Very secluded and nothing to do. Property did not have any entertainment, water sports, not even a game night.
Staff is excellent, view is worth a million dollars, but could not get a proper sleep due to roaches. I do hear they will be doing some updates, but I will not be returning to see what they are...too many roaches.

The hotel staff is excellent. The "resort" is more of just a hotel. With the frequent power outages in the island the hotel/resort need to invest in a generator as most of the other resorts on the island have.

could be a 4.5

Pros: beautiful location. excellent snorkeling, friendly staff, good food.
Cons: rooms should be updated with new and clean furnishings, cleaning program needs large improvement.
this is a older facility but in good shape it is a beautiful location and has excellant snorkeling. it has a good restaurant and good food. it has some problems that should be fixed. the curtains were to small for the window and were literally falling apart on the window. the bed spread and sheets were stained and should have been replaced long ago. the floor was dirty and I swept and mopped the floor myself while the cleaning crew were standing around talking. remember you are on island time while you are here, that means no one is in a hurry to do anything. staff was very friendly. this could be a 4.5 facility.

The staff was so wonderful at Palms! The rooms were literally steps to the ocean it was so peaceful! There really isn't any restaurants or shops near so plan to rent a car or bring extra money for cabs! I would stay here again!
