"This is such a special place, we will hopefully be back again in the future. Perfectly tucked away in the hills of Carmel Valley, once you're there, it feels like you could be somewhere very remote for how peaceful it is. But it's very accessible to the goings on in other parts of Carmel Valley or even going out to Carmel-by-the-Sea, Point Lobos, Monterey, etc. If we could have stayed a month, just watching the hummingbirds and listening to the windchimes, we would in a heartbeat. "The listing said this unit had heat. When we arrived on Friday evening the heat would not work. We contacted the host and were told nothing could be done for the heater until Monday. Host agreed to bring a space heater on Saturday. It did not work either. Finally at around 5 pm on Saturday a working space was delivery. The unit was still cold. The maintenance person fixed the heater on Monday and the room was pleasant. While the maintenance person was there we also requested they fix the broken...

"Where should I start! We booked for three weeks and we only received one set of towels. Really! The bottom sheet on the bed was the wrong size or depth and we ended up sleeping on the plastic mattress cover. I went out and bought a set of sheets! We have family in the area So we borrowed towels from them. The drain in the shower got clogged and the owner asked us to clean it out. Apparently it must happen all the time and he has done nothing to correct the problem. The draw that the silverware...

"I was looking for a place for me and my 70 dog, Monkee, that was centrally located for some sightseeing in Monterey and Salinas, and I found it! Nestled between pine trees, Longhorn Steer (yes, you read that right), and lush greenery is a beautiful oasis. The place was clean, well-stocked and the large bed was comfy. Irene and Gary are wonderful hosts! I plan on sharing this secret hideaway with some friends of mine that are planning trips up the California coast. I will definitely stay here...
