Ciampino Hotel at about 15 kms from the City

Posted Jul 3, 2017
A hotel situated in the commune of Ciampino 15 kms from the city.it only provides shuttle from ciampino airport during the morning and not the the main terminal and a shuttle will cost around 20-25 euros per person. The hotel is within a km of the ciampino train terminal and it takes u to the city I.e. roma terminal in 15 minutes @1.5 euros . The last train from city to ciampino is at 10:42pm. However the hotel staff has language limitations and has a good working pool and the breakfast is v average . Unfortunately if u pay through expedia make sure that they don charge u again as they did charge me again .

Quiet neighbourhood

Posted Apr 30, 2017
Hotel is far from Romes city centre, but just take a 10 minute walk to the train station and take a ride to Termini and from there you can go anywhere. Right next to airport so may be loud, but in a nice quiet area.

Easy to get away from - and nothing else!

The hotel was located close to the airport and to the railway station. A train to Roma Termini cost just €1.50 and the shuttle bus from the station to the airport was just €1.20. The hotel was about a 10-minute walk from the station and the journey time to Termini was 15 minutes. The local area had very little to commend it with just some small restaurants which were closed most of the time. The same could be said of the hotel, which boasted a bar in it's advertising but had no such facility on offer. In fact, when we enquired about a bar, we were directed to a machine which dispensed a limited range of fizzy drinks and some snack foods. Nice swimming pool, dour staff, clean rooms, end of story. Oh yes! We found a nice bar nearby with friendly staff and a variety of reasonably-priced drinks. However, it was the Easter weekend and this bar didn't open on either Sunday or Monday.

Great find!

The hotel is a bit outside of Rome, but in a cute little town. The pool is also an awesome addition. There is a great home cooked Italian restaurant around the corner as well. The only down side is the noise from the airport and the train tracks.
