Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Čikov?
The best area to stay in Čikov is within the village center itself, particularly around the main square.

The village center of Čikov is quite compact and offers a pleasant, authentic experience of rural Vysocina. You'll find a few local guesthouses and a pub or two, all within easy walking distance of each other. The church and the small general store are central landmarks. It's an excellent choice for solo travelers or couples seeking a quiet retreat.

For those looking for a more secluded and private stay, consider accommodations just outside the main village, often located in the surrounding countryside. These options typically consist of renovated farmhouses or cottages, providing more space and direct access to hiking and cycling paths. This is ideal for couples seeking privacy and a connection with nature.
When is the best time to go to Čikov?
The best time to visit Čikov is during the late spring and summer months, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the region.

During these months, the Vysocina Region experiences mild to warm temperatures and generally lower rainfall, which is ideal for enjoying the natural beauty of the area. This period is great for visitors interested in hiking or cycling through the scenic landscapes, as well as exploring historical sites.

Families will find the summer months particularly suitable, as the warmer weather allows for comfortable outdoor excursions to places like the nearby Castle Roštejn or the historic town of Telč, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which are easily accessible from Čikov.
Can I cancel my hotel reservation on Expedia?
You can cancel your hotel reservation on Expedia, though it depends on the cancellation policy of your booking. Most bookings are refundable if canceled within 24-48 hours of the scheduled arrival. Be sure to check your booking confirmation for the exact cancellation policy. If free cancellation is available, you can cancel directly through your Expedia account by logging in, going to "My Trips", and selecting your reservation. To find flexible deals, filter your search by "Fully refundable property" for hotels in Čikov.
How much is the nightly rate at a Čikov hotel?
