Just a small sampling of the neon signage on display inside the American Sign Museum. The entrance to the American Sign Museum. A sensory overload of signage, giving an amazing history of advertising in America. Totally worth the time if you're in the Cincy area. Locally known as the Purple People Bridge, the former L&N Railroad bridge was built in 1872 linking Newport KY to Cincinnati OH. The last train crossed in 1987 and the last automobile crossed in 2001. After a renovation including a coat of light purple paint, the bridge reopened to pedestrians as the Newport Southbank Bridge. At over a half mile long (2670 feet), it is the longest pedestrian bridge linking two states. Met this curious fellow at the Cincinnati zoo. My first time in Cincinnati was extra special due to visiting this place. After the world tragedies of late, including the USA's massacre of African Americans in Charleston, the history here and Freedom's Eternal flame overlooking riverfront park and Kentucky truly gives one hope and peace. Behind the scenes at the American Sign Museum. An entire second space as big as the museum itself, full of signs awaiting the restoration process! Another collage of the tropical blooms on display at the Krohn Conservatory. The intricacies and almost animal or insect like appearance of these flowers brings out the macro-photographer in just about anyone with a smartphone! The Emery Angel also known as the weeping angel was constructed as a baptismal font in 1898 and originally held a clamshell. It was converted to a monument and moved to spring grove cemetery in 1955.

At 733 acres, it is the second largest cemetery in the United States. Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice... Winnie the Poon, Winnie the Poon, tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff.... no idea what this store peddles since it was closed but noteworthy nonetheless! The super soft and super pink bloom of the Powder Puff tree inside the Krohn Conservatory. A welcome warm winter oasis. A small sampling of the diverse variety on display in the orchid collection of the Krohn Conservatory. Rocks and things made from rocks - lovely jewelry, mortar/pestle combos, pendants, etc. #colorful Just a couple signs along the side street to whet the appetite as you approach the museum. Think I will curl up with my blanket and take a nap! Wonderful day at the Cincinnati Zoo. The Shark-ray (Rhina ancylostoma) looks like a sci-fi concoction of a shark and a manta ray. In reality, it is neither shark nor ray, it is a bowmouth guitarfish. In 2007, the Newport Aquarium in Kentucky initiated the world's first captive breeding program for this species.
